Heavily enjoying Halo
After installing.... and trying to run... i was hit by the "Hardware Acceleration is unavalaible or disabled" message..
meh, just put in the command line and go.. Now after running through a dozen things... i've come to the conclusion that you must keep the FPS in the settings to 30fps.... anything else results in the worst preformance...... (i hate coucels for limiting) Set it to 30fps...set everything to max...and boom.... i'm enjoying damn good game at a damn good "frame rate" There are occasions when you get up to 10 enemies on at once...making it nearly impossible to shot cause of the sudden drop...but you get around it .....otherwise..the games running PRO..... not nearly as good as it should...but i'm happy....

I don't understand and of these complaints about performance - on this machine:
AMD 2000 768MB PC2100 radeon 9700np at 1024x768, everything set to max - the worst I have seen is 25fps - which is playable - it tends to be around the 40-60fps though. |

As ive said before the game is not particularly well coded and there are many performance problems. id go into detail but ive posted it before and the game isnt worth more than a paragraph of typing.

lol...... the story of it.... i enjoy...as for the coding... i know it's terrible..... can never expect much from a previously released...or ment for councel system game.... the only thing that pisses me off is the fact that there are games that are being designed with the computer in mind from the start..... and that they have the nerve to first design it for the coucels.... then just make it sorta work on a few machines..... It would be oh so much nicer if they tuned it on a PC....then simply transfered it to the councels...and let the details slide a little for each....that way they make EVERYONE happy.....

Yeah, I totally agree Judas, code is terrible but the story, the environment... halo!! Its just an amazing thing, love the idea... loved the game (besides the few fps drops)

ya, i thought that game would blaze on my system too, considering that it debuted on an xbox with a 733 P3.

Repeditive level design as well. Transition parts are varied, but then it's like the same thing for 20 minutes, move on, same thing, blah blah blah. It was a good way to kill 8 hours though.

this was the poorest single player campaign i have to say, half life was boring also i jus quit. just go around shooting things and you fight a bunch of the same enemies in different locations when going back and forth. the level design was so repitive i was worried i was going in circles, i cant believe this was an amazing xbox game cant even play wit bots! overhyped xbox crap!
