Commandos 3 help!!
need help...im stuck on the 2nd mission in stalingrad. the objectives say i have to protect general o'donnel. i dunno wat i should do - protect the general or eliminate all the germans? it seems like there is an endless supply of germans comming at me- is there?

Not an endless supply, just quite a few. I'd recommend using the Green Beret to pick up one of the emplaced MG-42's. Then take him and your two other commandos to a location where any enemies coming after you will have to file through a small area, or have to quickly turn a corner to get to you. I poistioned myself behind one of the walls near where you start.
Once your set up, put the commands in Cover mode so they'll fire automatically at any enemies. When your fire off a couple of shots, nearby enemies should come to check out what's happening. When they round the corner, they should be in your sites and your commandos should mow them down before they know what hit them. Keep doing this for the various squads that come your way. Eventually they'll stop and you can make your way to the airfield only encountering stationary enemies. You may have to adjust your placement when using the previous strategy, so save at the beginning of the level and then quicksave often after that. I'll also take this opportunity to say how much I hate what Pyro/Eidos have done to this series. Adding timed action sequences, removing commandos from previous games, no "actual" cutscenes, removing most of the stealth of previous games...... it's just sad. They turned one of my favourite game series into a pile of crap. The final stab was the Nintendo-esque ending - "You've Beaten Commandos 3!" *cut to menu screen*.

Spellbot 5000 on that level do u mean one of those machine guns on those turrets? about where should i position my men. the enemy normaly comes when they do an immeidate right from the bridge that connects to "their terrirtory", from then they go straight and find cover behind the blown up building with the arch thingy in the middle. where should i stand? should i hav the commando and the sapper holding those machine guns?
p.s i agree they f*kd the game up

Yep, those mounted machine guns are what your looking for. I'd only use the Green Beret though, he can pick it up and take it to where you need, whereas the Sapper can only use it when it's mounted, leaving him out in the open for the Germans guns which have a longer trajectory.
Check these two screenshots for places to set up ambushes. Once you get a feel for what I'm going at, you'll be able to devise your own locals for ambushes. Keep in mind though, there are a couple of spots in the game that require you to defend against oncoming attackers. This time in Stalingrad is the easiest. The other were so infuriatingly maddening that I just used a cheat to make myself invisible and then went in and slaughtered the Gerry's, and this coming from a guy that found Commandos 1 and 2 easy!. ![]()

btw how do u take ingame screenshots?also another thing, is it possible to get ur sniper in cover mode and use the sniper, cos for instance, ive got my sniper and his sniper out, i press 'a' to get to cover mode and his line of sight is shown. my curser is still to scope so i rightclick to get rid of it. then he just pulls out a pistol cover mode is also quite weird, i had my commando and i had the fist on so i could bash ppl. i ran u to this guy and when im about 2cm away(measured from on screen) he pulls his pistol out and blasts the guy. the guy didnt even die and he turned around and shot me back =[ (he had a rifle so it did considerable damage)

Hmm, I stole the screens off of Gamespot, but most games can take screenshots either through a preprogrammed key, or by pessing the "Print Scrn" key. Check around the Commandos community and I'm sure you'll find the exact method to do it.
As far as cover mode as concerned, I don't think you can use the Sniper's rifle. You can use any other weapon though. As such, if I'm going to use cover mode, I usually outfit my commandos with the Allied Rifles or the German Sub-machine Guns. In Stalingrad, you can grab either from their respective dead owners.

meh too bad u cant use sniper on cover. a bit dodgie i rekon. that reminds me on the first mission on stralingrad, the "elite sniper" is a bloody haxor bitch. i check his line of site and its no where near where im army crawling along the fenceline. then suddenly i see the scope on me and boom im dead. sometimes when hes crouching behind a wall he suddenly just stands up, runs out, he magically knows where i am and boom in dead again

meh im stuck on the traitor level now. where actually does the traiter come out of, which building. am i supposed to do this all silently, stealthly becuase when i killd the whole patrol group the alarm went off and then it said mission failed cos the traiter met with the enemies. i heard that the sniper is in the pentagon shaped building on the 2nd level. how do u get on the 2nd level. there r stairs goin up to nothing, no door. plz help. thanks in advance.

First, I'd recommend restarting the whole level. The sniper path in this level is probably the hardest because once you kill the traitor, you'll have everyone on your ass.
I'd recommend this. First, use your costumed spy to go up to ground level at the first sewer exit you come to. There will be a few guards up here on the street. Use a combination of the spy's distract ability and another commando as you killer to take out the few guards here. Right near the sewer exit is a door to a building. This is the building the traitor will come to eventually. Use your commandos to clean out all floors and rooms in this building. Once that's done you can use it as a safehouse, and to set up your future ambush. Once this building is cleared, you now need to use your men to clean out the lower portion of the map(i.e. everything south of the main street running through town, but DO NOT pick up anything you find in crates along the way(that will start the timer, which we don't want to do till later. You don't need to kill absolutely everyone, but enough that you have a clear path along the bottom edge of the map that your commandos can move freely through. In the bottom right of the map is the building the traitor starts out from. You don't need to get inside, but you do need to clear everyone out from behind the building by the Kubelwagen and on the roof. Once that is done, we can set our ambush. You only need your Sapper for this, so take all your other commandos to the building at the bottom-right of the map and have them wait in the Kubelwagen. Take your Sapper to the construction yard near where you first came out of the sewers. If you search in the crate there, you'll find some remote bombs. Pick up the bombs, notice the timer started. You have 15 minutes, which is loads for what we need to do. Now go to the first building we cleared out where we want to set up an ambush. On the first floor you'll find a room with a dining room. Set your bombs in here. Now high tail it back to the Kubelwagen, but don't get in. Basically now you just need to wait for the timer to count down. After time runs out, the traitor will emerge from the fron of the building all your men are hiding behind. He'll get in fancy car and ride around the streets for a bit, finally stopping at the building where we set our ambush. Once he goes inside, a small sub-window will pop up to show us where he is in the building. Once that window pops-up, blow your bombs and then hop in the Kubelwagen. The car all your men are now in is the getaway car for the mission, so you'll automatically drive away. Mission accomplished!

on the infiltrate the train mission, i cleared out like 2-3 guys but i cant clear out ne more. i throw cigarette packs in their line of sight and they dont c it. i even throw it in their sight, when they come, i pick it up and throw it closer to my theif behind those boxes and the soldier is blind and doesnt c the cigarette pack. How do u pass this mission? the guys that i cant clear r the all the ones on the left hand side if u dont change the camera view and there is on the the right - he talk to the car driver when it comes. Need help

omg how hard is the 15 min stop the bomb deployment one!!!

Hi ....... i m just stuck into second mission where obectives says take your men and board on the aeroplane .... (as i have saved general o donnel already) ... problem is that i cant find anyways to board on the plane ... plz solve my problem how i can clear the mission .. thanx

I never played through this game myself but I found some information. An enemy will spot the body in the east "bump" of the bridge, and blow himself up on the mine there. Ensure you are crawling, so that enemies don't see your head and fill it with a bullet. The next enemy will spot the body in the north western corner of the bridge, and blow himself up on it. Many more soldiers will come onto the bridge and trigger the two mines north and south of the eastern "bump". The last two, nearest to you, ought to be left alone (though if they blow it doesn't matter). How the next part turns out is different each time, but you should be able to handle it. There will be a high concentration of enemies on the bridge, despite the fact that some were killed by the mines. Now use your molotov cocktails and grenades (NOTE: save at least two grenades) to kill tight groups of them. More will come, including another battalion of four who were headed for the square. Ready a grenade and throw it so that it will land as they are running past, killing them all. At one point a cannon manned by two soldiers will cross the bridge, flanked by more troops. Kill soldiers who see you with molotovs before they shout, and let the cannon trip the remaining mines, adding to the explosion with a molotov (this destroys it completely). Once the onslaught, the magnitude of which can vary, is over, gather the Commandos together in crawl mode on the bridge and fill your inventory with all the guns you can carry. Roughly at this point three men should parachute into the map, and an armoured vehicle should drive into the camp and park on the eastern side. More troops will come onto the bridge; you can either go back to the hiding place and use explosives if you have some left, or use cover mode and the Sniper to shoot down all the enemies. When you are sure that no more people will go onto the bridge (i.e. all the assault teams of four have been eliminated, and guards who patrol near the bridge are dead), you can begin your insertion into the camp. You will know if all offensive batallions are dead as a short cutscene will show General O'Donnell going to the Nazi plane, where you must now join him. Have the camera set so that the aeroplane on the iced runway is on the bottom of the screen, then send the Green Beret down to the left of the house opposite the bridge. There may or may not be a liutenant crouching by the door, just round the corner. If there is, wait for him to leave before entering the house. Wait once inside, wait in the corner right of the door for a guard to enter and go into the kitchen. Sneak up on him and stab him to make your base here. Now examine the door to see what's going on outside without actually leaving. When the officer comes and crouches by the door, crawl out and stab him in the back the go back in again. Carefully send the Sniper and Sapper to join the Green Beret one by one. Now send the Sniper out alone. Hopefully you have fifteen bullets or more; this will be enough to clear out enemies in your way. Start by shooting anyone within range of the doorway, and those who investigate the bodies. Then look to the compound to the east; kill the two soldiers there. The path to the armoured vehicle is now clear; send the Sniper back into the house and get the Sapper out. You should have picked up a time bomb in the box in the ruined factory. Sneak up to the vehicle, place the bomb next to it then crawl back to the house. Send the Sniper to the doorway just in time to see it blow (if you're too late it doesn't matter). Some more soldiers may gather around the vehicle to see what happened; pick them off with your sniper rifle. Now move all three men to the destroyed mini tank and crawl down the path leading south to the aeroplane. Use the Sniper to kill the guard(s) next to it. If you're feeling bloodthirsty you can finish everyone off; whatever happens, climb through the hatch on the southern side to trigger a cutscene in which you realise that O'Donnell .... . .... ...... ... ... .........
