Has anybody got Knights of the Old Republic?

Is it any good?

I'm thinking of getting it.

The graphics certainly look stunning. What kind of game is it? RPG?

omg, you crazy lol.. its totally AWESOME. those who have it are prolly playing it day and night, hence the lack of drool in the forums

Yes its an RPG, engine is a close remake of the NWN-engine and game is created by the same people. (Bioware)

This game actually returned my love for the SW universe, its a lot better than recent SW action titles (Jedi Academy etc). Its deeper and more like the original trilogy of films... Like starwars is supposed to be!

Yeah the game is pretty good, its a thinking mans game though, if you are into fast paced FPS wont be your scene.

Definitely not a twitch game. Reminds me a lot of NWN and the like. Awesome game though.

hmm how does this game fair on a game called final fantasy 7 ??????? i cant see it being in the same league ? is it like that ? where you fight boss`s and upgrade your weopens and stuff ? and is it huge ???? hmm my mate is just finishing downloading it lol ill have to pop up and get it from him if its worth the hassle

the game is great....its the best star wars game ive ever played and its a sweet rpg for bioware fans even if you dont rally care for the star wars universe

Its pretty buggy, I had it crash 3 times in like 1 hour of play.

Well... I played it... got bored of it within 30mins... yet another game to be thrown to one side... we need HL2, Doom 3, Far Cry, Stalker etc... soon!

Well,

I never get crashes, unless i modded the game wrong......the only bug i get is from any ATI Drivers above 4.3 from what i know.

It stops the 'Frame buffer Effects' from working, well at least the glow bit. (from lightsabers, sun, blaster bolts and lights)

I have emailed ATI about this and all i get is a automated reply saying it is my computers' config.

really dumb since i stated clearly that it works fine on Catalyst 4.3 and not on anything higher.....not sure about 4.4, but 4.5 and above surely do not work.

Also, i have noticed that Catalyst 5.1 tends to slow down Dantooine Severely....weird eh?

I thought one of the recent catalyst versions fixed the crashing prob between levels. If not use the opengl driver from 4.3 and it will be fine. I am not really into RPGs, but I am a star wars fan, and this was one of the best games I have played I can not wait for the second one in a couple weeks. This game had a much better storyline than the latest star wars movies it was a true star wars feel.
