bored of controlling lame ass characters? sick of the same old human players with a gun or a sword, well how about controlling something who can fall from any height without damage, how about controlling something who can suck blood/souls, can wield a massive sword and jump 30 foot in the air while attacking enemies, how about controlling something who can use telekinesis to attack and throw enemies from different locations over the edge of buildings or into other enemies?

how about controlling something who can jump across massive ledges and walk through doors in mist form and take bat form to fly?

how about taking control of the mighty vampire KAIN.

it plays very well, initially I was really getting irritated by the keyboard commands, as there are quite a few of them, relating to the vampires KAIN and RAPHAEL and sometimes it takes some working out which key to hit, but ive gotten used to it and im sure with a pad it would work alot better. I might hunt out my sidewinder USB MS gamepad, but I generally like keyboards, I think with this one though there might be too many to feasibly use in the heat of a battle.

Its a great game, exceptionally well coded, runs super smooth on my system at 1600x1200 with everything maxxed and 2 aa 16 quality aniso. Very refreshing to control two very powerful characters instead of the lameass guys we are normally stuck with. alot of combat combos. In some ways the graphics remind me ingame of prince of persia, just smoother with better combat.

highly recommended especially for those of you who loved bloodrayne, I love it. only comment would be the large array of keyboard commands, some people might find the control irritating. ive persevered with it because its just so damn beautiful to watch when playing !

He sounds more like the mighty vampire Alucard.

Well, at least Alucard is good looking! That Kain is butt-ugly!

Thumbs Up! no console port on these textures :)

this is the other vampire raphael..... he is pretty cool too, not so much brute force as Kain but he is a better jumper, has some pretty mean moves and can shift between the ethereal plane and "real life".

My wife bought me this for christmas and I had a go at it last night, with a few stiff whiskies in me, very good engine, runs well on the 5900 card I have. Yeah I would recommend it as well.

The game is fantastic, runs super smoothly but i have to complain about the ugly control system, as Zardon said sometimes you don't know what key hit to go in a certain direction, the jumping levels can be a little frustrating. I'll recommend the game of course but along with a good game pad

It really is a fantastic game I intend to play it more later, runs so well and gets better IMO the further you get into it - some quite challenging levels leading to much hair pulling !, ive been playing Shenmue2 on the xbox as well today, got that for xmas !

yeah would have to agree its a killer game ZARDON when you get to chapter 8 it becomes a nightmare LOL you will know what i mean when you get to VARADONS MANSION < this is the point when the gameplay get harder and stranger and Mazelike lol also playing as RAZEL is more dificult playing as Kain is more easy becuse he does not use the spectral reilm to solve puzzles

Antialiasing in that game doesn't work beyond 1024x768 in my rig, i've tried official 3.10 and latest omegas, anyone having the same problem?

hope they do release it, and I also wish more PC game makers would do DVD versions of games. its about time it became more widespread.

another total immersion theme. the artwork is interesting, I am trying to adapt a game engine right now and practice but it is terribly complex, gonna have to get four drives in a RAID to pull this one off or two seperate rendering machines and adapt.
Oh yeah....I like the artwork too....lol

this game looks great and I am using a logitech wingman rumblepad. I have been following the legacy of kain series since the first game on the ps1... this is a great series and the devs have done a great job tying the stories together...

the games:

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Soul Reaver 2
Blood Omen 2
Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Okay I've never followed this series and the only game I've played other than this one is Soul Reaver. If you want a good laugh since I wasn't familar with this game family playing the game for the first time I thought "Damn..this sure reminds me of Soul Reaver!". I do have to say this is one of the best titles I've played in along time. However, my gamepad is being barrowed right now so I'm left with my joystick only so it gets pretty interesting to say the least! Thank god the buttons are numbered!!!

They finally got this game at the stores in my area this week. Just got it last night.
Once you get a handle on the controls, and get used to the shifting camera, this game
kicks major ass. As always, the storyline and characters in this game are the best.

And the graphics and animation are incredible.

I'm just now starting the Raziel level where you have to beat the mist.

Love it.

Just got this game last night. Lotsa fun. Great graphics and runs very smooth at 1152x864......for some reason or other it blue-screened on me at 1280x1024 when I exited the game (even though it seemed to run fine when I was playing) so I backed it off a level.

I'm up to the beginning of Chapter 4 with Raziel. Good stuff. Runs nice with the RumblePad, but those camera angles can get quite annoying and disconcerting at times. No matter, the game more than makes up for it in sheer graphics splendor.
