The Thing - PC Version

Did anyone play this game on the PC? My son and daughter-in-law played it on the PS2 and LOVED it! I've been tempted to pick it up but really haven't heard much of anything about the PC version.

Anyone?

Watch the movie first so you can enjoy the game more. The movie is one of the greatest horror movies of all time IMO.

The game was really good, and if you look at wal-mart, or other places you can get it as a package of like 4 games for only 20 bucks.

Oh, I've seen the movie/s. The original and the remake. I agree totally with your assessment. It's not a movie you watch alone!!!

Woops, I forgot the one with Kurt Russell is the remake. That one is still the best One I think. Some great special effects for a movie done in the early 80's.

I have it, played it and finished it, i recomend this game to all survivor horror fans, very good game!!! Dyre go get it!!!

Well, let me explain my hesitation about getting it:

MicroCenter has a very large "Discounted/Bargain" section. It includes several games as well as a few programs of prior versions.

"The Thing" is there and in a very large quantity. Dozens, in fact. The price is $9.97. I've almost picked it up on at least 6 occasions lately. But, due to there being so many, I had to figure/assume that it must be really, really bad or it would have sold more copies or even been on the active shelves.

Still, at $9.97 it's not much to lose if it's the most horrible game ever made. I just didn't want to put that money into it when I'm looking for newer games to go on sale.

Like i said Dyre, if you like survivor horror type of games you will love this one, its really good, but im a SH fan so...

hey dyre, for $10.00 grab it!!! i have it and what i played of it was fun..(cant remember why i stopped playing...i must dig it out and have a go again!)

one possible reason there is alot of copies in the "bargain bin" could be that they ordered too many copies in the first place (it happens, i used to work in a large retail store)
the "high ups" muck up and the sales team has to clear them out!
but that is only one of many possibilities!

its a fairly reasonable game to me. does get a little tricky in places but not too difficult. worth a try at bargain prices.

For 10 bucks it is worth picking it up as the storyline is great. Certain aspects of the game....do not exactly do what the game box/manual tells you it will do as such it is useless in game. I will not elaborate on it as it takes away from the game your first time through (if you already know about it). Otherwise, the game is an ace in the hole and worth picking up.

Initially you can not use mouse look but there is a patch on the web that lets you use your mouse on your PC (as it was designed for console/pc at the same time they took out mouse look, but the patch re-enables it for PC ONLY).

GO buy it definatly worth your $10.
