Chrome -- Why Haven't I Heard More About this Game??

I do recognize the name and a few comments over the past few months. BUT, after downloading the demo just now and seeing how this game LOOKS and PLAYS, I'm wondering why there hasn't been more publicity and comments here? Is there something actually very wrong with the game?

The demo is one SWEET-looking game!! And it plays very nice on my system, too.

I liked what I played of it, but it was released at the wrong time when alot of other bigger titles came out so alot of people forgot about it.

Dyre when this game was released I continually praised it and I thought it was the game halo SHOULD have been, I was in the minority though. superb game I beat it in a week or so, great FPS -- awesome GFX especially the depth of field.

I've been playing this demo for a little while now. It's outstanding!!

I've gotten to the point where my 'buddy' has turned on me and left me to die. Very interesting story line.

If I can compare it with something else, I'd say it's what DEUS EX 2 should have been! I've never played Halo.

I've been playing the full version of Chrome. While the game looks FANTASTIC, the game plays fairly well. However, the story line well that is really really WEAK. Alot of the models have literally SQUARE heads. I don't know about you but when an engine can look so beautiful...why the heck not the models as well? Sure they are textured VERY WELL just not modeled so well. When they talk it looks like their faces are those of a nutcracker. Aside from that the full version of the game, even on easy, is a freaking nightmare! Soooo difficult. But man....is it intense.

I was fortunate enough to pick mine up for $28 at gogamer.com in one of their 48 hour sales. If you can snag it for $30 or less I would say pick it up. Just be forewarned you will be playing for the eye candy and the difficulty of the game more so than the horrid storyline.

I hated this game...

... it was boring
... it had an awful story line
... it has awful character and geometric graphics (except the trees and foliage)
... the AI was VERY bad
... never even tried the MP

The AI wasn't too bad imho. Sure it's not "Half-Life Bot" but hey....those have seen more development time than most games.

It was a good game, but it had some truly annoying assed glitchy little bugs to it...like a few spots where I would spend 20 minutes trying to make a JUST barely makeable jump. It just felt kind of buggy and that always ruined the gameplay for me.

I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it had allowed you to explore the whole area and not cage you in with invisible walls. There was one map with this beautiful cliff edge and you werent allowed anywhere near it. Very dissapointing!

second that... the game looked awesome in the beginning, and the soundfx were really good too. but, it just sucked too much story wise to be worth spending any time on.

This is one sorry excuse for a story, I might've liked it 3-4 years ago when story line wasnt all that important.

The game is enjoyable up til about the third mission, then it just starts getting repetitive like hell...

Jon St John was worth it tho, almost laughed my ass off as I used to do, hearing his usual "your face, your ass. whats the difference"-remarks back in the golden days, playing Duke3D over serial cable

I just got the game and it would appear that the sux the juice out of system BIG time. With 16 FSAA and 6AA it jerks like a mofo. I am yet to get into the story of the game, the graphics look very nice, the sound effects are also good.

I have installed the latest patch and the game has increased in FPS dramatically. Its like a whole new game.

Definately worth while installing the patch and checking out the improvements. The patch took over 3 mins to extract and install, its huge!

Does anybody know how to get pass on the level when you have to sneak araound in the base. You need to get an shuttle of some kind, thats why you need to obtain it from the base. But I can't sneek around depite I use the cloak thing.

I guess you're talking about the full game. I only have the demo so can't help you with this.
