exclamation Far Cry Review!!!! Check this OUT!!!!

Check out this Far Cry review at Gamespot!!!!

"For almost a year now, the gaming world has eagerly anticipated the arrival of the next-generation wave of first-person shooters. These new games would finally begin to take advantage of the powerful graphical features that hardware companies have been incorporating into their video cards to deliver unprecedented visuals. But while we're still waiting to see the fruits of the labors of storied developers like id Software and Valve, Crytek, a relatively obscure German developer, has managed to beat everyone to the punch with Far Cry. In fact, Crytek almost delivers a knockout blow. Far Cry isn't just a stunning technical accomplishment. It's quite possibly the best single-player first-person shooter experience for the PC since Half-Life."

The game is due to be released in Europe on the 26th of March so we only have to wait 2 days, the game will also be released on DVD. Hope this helps.

You can also check all the European release dates for games Here...

I came across the below page and saw an intresting review on graphics card only tested in games wich is a very good thing, probably you already have seen this review before, but might be intresting again. As always it's seems that ATI cards is slightly better when it comes to games in some cases;

Another great review from Gamespot.

Gamespot has high standards for games. Seeing anything 9 and above from them really says something about the game. #1 choice for reviews in my opinion.

the game runs good on my machine with everything at high and 1185 (or something) resolution and 2AA and 2AF!! BUT JUST ABOUT. in some levels (always inside levels cause the make more use of pixel shader and lighting effects) my FPS do drop below 25 sometimes. but outside it works. this game is so pushing hardware.

this information is taken from the retail Readme.
on the dvd i have.

even with my 9800 XT fully clocked
2500+ @ 2321ghz 3200+++ something lol CPU
and 512 DDR @434mhz
Nforce 2 @ 213fsb
Windows XP Pro All Updates
Omega 4.3`s
--------------------------------------------

on max detail i get stuttering for 10-15 seconds at the start of a map and then goes away and does not return thankfully
you will notice a little slowdown but when i turn shadows down from ultra high to high then it runs great

and guys this is the most impressive FPS i have played....
wait untill you guys start playing the first ohh wow and the INTRO to the game rocks

wait untill you see the Ocein Liner :P

anyway again i think this game rocks.................................

i hope splinter cell will be just as great when i get it this friday from preorder

also i will be buying this game on friday not preorder as i know there will be some at my local game
still if you guys have a 9800 Pro your going to be still getting awsome framerates

and if you dont have anything higher then a 3000+ prossessor your going to struggle with higher detail
those with 9700 Pro`s are going to also struggle with highend settings.

Btw, the advanced video settings that count the most performance wise is: 1) Environment and 2) Water. FPS take a dive w/ these, but all settings in the left column can easily be set to highest as none of them stole more than about 1fps each. Remember this, those of you who are about to start playing the best fps ever.

edit: btw, setting water higher than medium steals a lot of performance but you dont gain that much more eye candy. The big difference is between low and medium.

And, environment takes a performance dive between low and medium as well but the difference is so extreme I'd strongly suggest y'all consider it. Environment is underwater effects, fish, flying birds and the like.

For anyone who is interested, I took some screenshots of the game @ 1280x1024 - full detail. These are big files; 150-350kb each, also note that the screenshots may contain spoilers so look at your own risk.
