How good is the multi-player? I've know all about the single play and that it's good what about the multi player?

the single player is amazing. just finished it on medium difficulty and it took me 7 days of fairly constant playing, other games take two to four (call of duty, nolf 2, mafia etc) so you get your moneys worth. only multiplayered over LAN, and with not many people the maps are just too big and its hard to find your opponents with all the plants trees etc. might be better with 10+ people online maybe, but i guess itd still be hard to spot snipers hidden in the undergrowth

Id say.... Definately Farcry
It is suucchhhh a cool game.... probably the best graphics of any shooter ever to date. Huge well designed maps. esp the outdoor scenes are amazing. Even w/o the multiplayer this game is worth every penny IMO.

hmm i dont know. i have it, and i liked it a whole lot...that is until i got to the lava fields....the game is just sooo frustrating at some points that it becomes more of a chore, and not entertainment. the save system is the biggest culprit i believe....because you will travel a good distance for about 5 minutes, then get to a fight, where you die...you then have to travel the distance again because it did not save before the fight!
in terms of Single player straight action/fun...i think painkiller is better. havent played painkiller online, but far cry MP is really cool....engi's can build towers and gun implacements (which score poitns as well), and people can snipe, use rockets, assault etc etc...its fun |

I've tried MP but only in FFA mode just to hone up my reflexes before a good old game of Obj. Spearhead! I enjoyed it for the scenery but the actual gameplay was nothing different!

However i only recall 2 places where i had to do this.. the first one was with that damm Chopper on the boat that you had to take out before the ship sank and you with it. The second was the lava fields. Apart from those 2 places gameplay was pretty even.

You can save the game anywhere you want to using a console command. I LOVE it for that.
Hit the ~ (tilde) key and the console comes up. Now type: \save_game [name] and press ENTER. (No, don't type the brackets, just name the save.) Now hit the ~ key again to close the console. Now you've got yourself a new 'latest' save point to select. Here's how I handled the lava fields since the game dropped to a CRAWL with all the activity: I used the sniper rifle from the near side of the chasm. When the sniper rifle was empty, I used the jeep but didn't drive it across the broken bridge at first. Rather, I used some rockets and machine gun fire to eliminate a few of the enemies. As enemies were eliminated, my FPS began to increase. Once it got more manageable, I moved across the bridge and up the short rise to the left. I still had lots of ammo on the jeep. I pulled up to near the top of the ridge and watched for rockets coming at me. (Use the BRAKES a lot!) Once I saw where the rockets were coming from, I let loose with a salvo toward that location. When rockets started coming at me, I'd back up down the hill and watch them fly past. LOL! Sometimes 3 at a time! ![]() Once I finally got the number of enemies down farther, I was able to get from the jeep across the log by switching to 3rd person (F1 key) and started watching for new ones to deal with. I finished the game in just under 10 days on the default level -- one above easy -- and am now playing it again in the next higher level. (But, I don't really see anymore problems than I did the first time....probably because I know better what to expect and how to deal with them this time.) At any rate, I have no qualms recommending this game to anyone who enjoys a FPS game. The fact that you can play it so many different ways and from so many different approaches makes it one of the top games ever released....IMHO. I'm sure it's going to be Game of the Year from several quarters. |

for the lava fields, go over the broken bridge but dont get as far as the log, theres a place you can jump the lava stream in the jeep just after the big bridge and get back onto the road and then just run everyone over :-) great game, but for multiple ways to play a game, the original deus ex was the best. my fav game of all time, i couldnt stop playing it, and its huge, took ages to complete, and then you want to play it again to see how different actions affect the storyline

what did you not like ZD?
my only complaint was the missions sometimes seemed to repeat themselves...after a while there were no new mission designs...but it was still a great game. |
