Yeah, I didn't play the original Splinter Cell until last month and boy was it fun. However, I did feel that it lacked realism in terms of darkness in the most obsurd places. CIA Building should not be that dark! The inaccuracy of the pistol also ticked me off a lot. The game was overall a good game.
A week and a half later I decided to play Pandora Tomorrow. That game is truly a work of art The Chinese developers kick ass. I didn't know they made the single player part of it until the credits told me otherwise. Everything which makes a good sequel was in Splinter Cell 2 Pandora Tomorrow. Although, I found the second one a little shorter, I still enjoyed it greatly. Every aspect of the game was improved from the first one. And actually used the split jump unlike the first one. I can't wait for number 3! These game really pushes the hardware as well. Makes me want to get a X800 PRO or a 9800 PRO just to play it with HQ settings. The cons about the game are that you spend so much time in night vision mode, you have don't have a chance to really enjoy the scenery. I encountered a fair amount of graphical glitches as well. Right in the beginning, whenever I turn around and such I get a different shade of water. I really suggest playing the games right after the other, just to see how much the franchise has improved.

SCPT is a poorly ported game. There's no difference (aside from FPS differences) in the level of detail between low, and high. The only thing that changes the picture is resolution.
SC3 will change that, though, since it'll be out for PC before xbox. I cannot WAIT for SC3. SCPT's MP was fun as hell, but SC3 will be even better. You get a KNIFE! |

Yeah PT was lagging really bad on certain parts... So if I put the game settings to low, it will look the same and run even faster?
Also, the shadow rez looks like crap... How can i make it better?

pandora tomorrow's shadow strike MP was boring, i tried it and was confused. sneaking games suck on multiplayer.
the game was pieceing together as a story, then the last mission the whole story fell apart with one of the cheesiest endings worse than the last game. the lighting is far over-exagerated (like cia offices and city streets of jereuselem) i also had a feeling that they were trying to promote sam fisher as kinda like a super-cool stealth ninja. i like solid snake's one man army but yet is an amazingly smooth spy. |

The MP takes some getting used to, but I assure you.. With a microphone, and a stable friend with one too, the game is AMAZINGLY addicting. It's great stickyshocking a merc, and then having your teamate pounce on him, then you get behind him, and grab hin, Whisper, "No, that's not a gun in my pocket, and yes, I'm happy to see you", then break his neck, and run off. Oh, God, I think I'm gunna start playing it again.. It's a great game, and really, really hones your skills at regular games, like BF42, and DFBHD, etc etc, The shadows suck, as a rule, though. They're low-quality, and are kinda blocky, but SC3 will fix that.
Lol, quickpost makes my replies look kinda funky.. Sorry about that. Oh, and to cover the graphics settings - Yes, put them on the lowest possible setting. I experienced a 20FPS increase, and lost no detail at all. |

Yeah it's like with Halo PC... If you turn on AA and AF and all that good stuff, it will look the EXACT same as without, BUT with severe performance drops...

the shadow's should be fixed in catalyst 4.6(ATi issue, not ubisoft)...and as far as low high GFx, be sure AA/AF is off as it does BAD things in this game, and the graphics are actually quite good

SC could learn a few things about realism in levels and with Sam Fisher's fitness (He shouldn't be able to hang on forever). MGS could learn a few things such as the number of weapons he can carry~ MGS can also learn a few things about useful gadgets and putting gadgets and moves to good use.. A friend of mine who is also a MGS fan admitted he never used the Infrared Vison and some of the other gadgets, Snake has. They're both franchises which can successfully coexist without infringing on each other's property. Like Sonic and Mario
