Americas Army

Hi, My friend told me that there is a way to tweak your graphics card to turn the fog off in this game. Is it possible and how do I do it?

Yeah probably, it's called cheating though-

And you will be kicked off the server and branded a cheater if you do it. If you want to do it for single player it's probably ok, but isn't that a multiplayer only game? When I was playing it it was.. except for the tests..

No its all legal, it is just some graphics card config that makes fog less visible it actually has nothing to do with the game its more of the graphics card aspect. How do I access the BIOS for my nvidia card btw?

Dude, it's cheating. I don't know how to mess with the video card bios in order to make fog less visible in America's Army, but if I knew I wouldn't tell ya, sorry.

Welcome to DH!

Doesn't..

Rage3D Tweak allow you you to disable some fog buffer? And yeah..if you can't legally do it from within the confines of the console and ingame commands it's usually regarded has cheating..

You really got some nerve don’t you? You do realize your trying a cheat in a game ran by the United States Military… This isn’t the wisest thing to do.

Cheating is never ok....but wtf??...like it makes any difference who sponsored/made/runs the game..
It isn't like the military will invade your house and drag you out to the street and shoot you...

Yeah right....i can play that game..and i am in Sweden, what could they do besides banning me from their servers...
"They know who you are" Like that would matter...as i said, they can't really do anything besides banning me...

As i said earlier there is no excuse for cheating in multiplayergames....i hate those lame-ass jerks that cheat....But i really doubt it would be any worse cheating in that particular game then in lets say UT...

Lol I already talked to a dev mod, its not cheating if you don't edit any game files. Its just tweaking your game card. Btw the people who run americas army are college kids trying to learn how to code games, they wont do shit if you are caught with a hack except ban ur account.

America's Army is the hardest ass game I've ever played... I cannot see ANYONE and I die... how? Too realistic for me!

I think AA sucks because the controls suck- In real like things like switching firing modes and choosing to throw a nade come easy, and you do them easily.. With the AA control scheme, each action has it's own button control, which is retarded, since many controls can be much more easily manged.. Like in any other FPS, like SOFII or Unreal- For that AA sucks. If it were better though out, it could be a great game, or "simulator" or whatever the hell you want to call it.

america's army sucks IMO...it is far too stiff. like a crappy GR or RvS. Yes, disabling fog IS cheating...ask any ladder or competition staff. let me put it this way, if i had a bios tweak for my video card that could change the layer levels for textures (a la...putting player textures on top...also known as glow/acid skins or wall hack) but not effect the game files...i wouldnt be cheating by your standards. Playing with no fog is a cheat, I dont care how you do it. The game wasnt meant to be played like that, therefore it gives you an unfair advantage -> cheat.

I'll answer.

There's nothing in the BIOS to switch that on or off.

All you can do in the BIOS is:

Change Core Clock
Change Memory Clock
TV-out Region Setting
Memory Timings

You can extract the bios through Flashrom or ATIflash utilities.

You can change those options above through Rabit or Radedit.

Google will find those for you.

If you do this you are not a good player and you must go out of the online game for ever.

Newest versions of PB are going to be using hardware GUID bans, so I'd think twice about cheating in AA.

Despite what many feel about America's Army's "feel" or "difference" compared to other games, there is no need to describe it as a 'lesser' game than other simulations or FPS. It happens to be my favorite, and yes I have played ALL of the major FPS.

There is definitely skill involved in the game, and it does take a lot of thinking. You only get good after you take the time to develop your own skills.

I think like you. I play a lot of FPS and the best for me is AA like simulator becouse others are more better FPS but in online games is the best.

I just came across this thread.... and my advice to you is - Don't waste time on cheating, or trying game haxs.... one thing ppl hate like myself are game haxers. So refrain from it, also take Neons advice it's a U.S Military game and if I ever catch your ass on AAO with cheats I will ban you from the server and write a note to the PB team.

If there is anything you dont understand about the above comment then please feel free to post your question.

Hi Zulan.

Wasnt Zulan an accient god used to worship live children to sacrifice? hmmmmmm
Anyways... I wasnt suggesting that I did have admin right to all the AAO servers, that would be a little silly to presume!

What I meant was, the servers that i do have admin access on I shall be keeping an watchful eye out.
