Heh

Now this becomes interesting. Crashes like hell on my 9800 flashed to pro and overclocked. Anything before 1.2 works perfectly fine. What kind of a moron released a patch like that? Or is it playable only on nVidia cards now ? I do experience graphical artefacts as well. Demo loop gets wrong particles rendered, and looks crappy. Time to uninstall the patch.

The other funny thing - seems like I don't get any SFX sounds now, nor music/speech in cutscenes. I do get music in-game. Time to verify if this is patch problem. Will keep you posted.

Bleh, Ubisoft and Crytek sure know how to patch bugs .....

i think thats great for ati, but truly this game is so f***ing buggy i don't think it should be used as a benchmark at all, now when HL2 and doom3, F.E.A.R. and stalker come out i really hope and doubt especially hl2 and doom3 to have as many bugs to begin with, that they should be the ones we need to use as benchmarks, by the looks of it farcry is about 500MB (in patches) short of being bug free

I dunno i'd like to know that too but NV's 3.0 paths is mostly PS 1.1 as the rest of the wow affects can be done with 2.0 effects

Perusing the Far Cry forums

I've found out something. Some issues can be resolved by uninstalling the game fully (Delete folder as well) and installing the game then patch with 1.2 right away. However, the MP problem isn't resolved through this method though. That's some great testing Crytek

it has been cancelled

Ubisoft just sent out an announcement regarding the v1.2 Far Cry patch released earlier this week. "Far Cry patch 1.2 has shown unexpected behaviour on specific hardware configurations. These matters are mainly due to incompatibilities with several optimisations brought lately to the code, with the intent to please a large number of users.

... you cant recall a patch. The best you can do is admit there is a problem and fix it.

Sadly ubi and companies under their umbrella seem not to be able to get the fixing part right.

Nope. CryTek broke new ground when they recalled a patch. Really...this is one of the biggest gaming related messes ever.

i have seen a couple of minor updates pulled for relatively unknown games... but not a patch for one of the best games to date.

1.2 patch

I have still mouse lag on update 1.2 i think they released the version under huge pressure, UbiSoft (CryTeK)has withdrawn the download on their site, the graphics are better, but the mouselag still exists even when i set the graphics on medium or Low, it make no difference about the mouselag, if i set the graphics very high,or low, even overclocking Graph, card does not help.

WinXP Home Edition Sp2 2162, Vid. Card Asus 5700/TD 256 M
Cpu HT 2.6 @ 3.12 ,Asus P4C 800 Deluxe Mobo
i Gig 400Mhz DDR.

Other Games r running well without overclocking my vid. Card.(even Halo and other demanding Games)

Any Help to resolve the mouse Lag would be priciated ?

Thx In advanced

Murdock

Seeing as it took, what, four months to release this patch, I wonder how long it's going to be before we see the re-release of this patch? Or would they just go straight to 1.3 at this point?
