Possible Server Going LIVE tomorrow! (read Post)
Apparently i've gotten a few issues worked out... speeds have increased.... and ping is low... (20-30ms in most cases)..
My question first is.... IF i completely reloaded UT2003 (as theres alot of you out there without 2004 AND those with UT2004 can still play on UT2003 servers) with all the bells and whistles.. with an expected low ping, up to 16 players without hitches.... 24/7 with the occasional server shutdown and reboot (i've been running the machine straight for 24 hours a day for the last 2 weeks... so don't expect freakquent shutdowns  )Would you be interested in playing on it? Poopy The J's UT2004 server is still up and running... just a reminder.... just wonder if there are a few out there that would still like a UT2003 server... ALSO.. i'm considering loading up other games for server.... Possibly HALO... Quake 1,2,3.... maybe even some other odd games... UT Classic is a very good possiblity and might consider keeping it up 24/7 again with 2003 going at the same time (i've successfully ran up to 5 servers from various games without problems.... all the problems that did crop up were ISP related or untweaked computer errors which i have completely fixed..) VERY SOON, i'm planning on upgrading the main rig to 1900+ or 2500+ possibly 3200... (athlon XP).... 1gb ram is most likely going to show up soon... possibly if there is demand... and things go smoothly.... i might get around to purchasing a dual CPU setup... seeing as this machine is already my master server and Media Center....(finished building my media center)....  I'm not bothered..Ut2003/4 would be nice.  By the way...Judas...you got any of the Battlefield games? they're awesome online...good fun and also its got bot support.

2003 with Chaos UT may be cool, I've been toying with some way to run both types of server on my end but I don't think I've got the space 500+ MB on my redirect server. Call of Duty, D3 when out and Quake 1,2,3 or so are my votes, if you need anything from me let me know.

you've a redirect Server? (were? )... and what all you have on it? (haven't you compressed the files in U2 files? (i think that's what there called).... i can't provide a farcry server... don't have the game... can't provide a battlefield server... haven't the game... sorry.....

yes i have COD.... but last time i loaded it... the demand for it was nill..... has there been much improvement since the first patch... and what about bots.... i've not much experience with COD (not really a fan of it... but it's VERY possible that i'll load it up again)

Currently i'm working on figureing out how to setup a quake 1 server without having to open myself up for viruses/hackers/spam... DMZ is currently needed.. but i'm still working on figureing it all out....

I did read on a site somewere that there was a mod coming out for bot support for CoD...and yes the patches have vastly improved CoD....i know a bit about CoD servers meself....there was a post a while ago saying how to set one up.
If you did put a CoD server up Judas...i'd definetly go on it! But to be honest i don't mind what server you put up as long as i have the game i'd go on it.

The only issue i can forsee right now is distance.... being the distance between you fireball and i.... the ping may not be great.... but i'm going to attempt to tweak the sucker so that everyone has even fair gaming... and without hitches..... I do beleive i was ONE of the ones that was posting about setting up a COD server.... and we have a good amount of info in that thread....

I don't mind...i've played on servers before with pings of 200 on CoD and don't affect gameplay in my opinion...well i can still get a fair few kills and have fun.
I was on Poopy's UT server earlier with a ping of 180 and it didn't affect the gameplay either, Soo i'm not too bothered about the ping.

like i said.. there are times when even with a ping of 200... you can beat those with pings of 20ms and it won't be because your better... thanks to me and poopy the J working together on tweaking the living hell outa the server.. change small values.. test.... and retest...

I voted, the redirect server actually was not too rough to setup thanks to the tutorial on unrealadmin.org. I got 500MB webspace for free earlier this yr when I signed up for the professional webhosting package from 1&1 internet for their yr free trial. Used UCC.exe to compress everything set the redirect and Voila! Super fast downloads. Except for CBP2, just too much there to host.
Yes Judas was instrumental in getting the server setup, thanks to him it runs well, bandwidth is good and everyone can grab some frags. If he's gonna put up a server I'll play on it especailly COD, haven't played that in a while, at least I will when not playing UT2K4.

I had UT2003 ..... but onfortuneatly... my bloody servers main hardrive died... BAH.. (swears).... it was brand new.... i was running the server on my main rig.... (little bit slow for loading times (still fast though)..... when i ran the server AND played the game on the same machine.... UT2003... Full..... currently loaded and read to fully tests out... UT2Vote(21) is loaded... and damn, it's slickest voteing system i've seen yet!.... A security mode is going to be isntalled shortly.... This will help prevent cheating... or ilegal skins/mods or just general console commands or multiple hacks to the administration menus... It's loaded RIGHT NOW...
