DOOM 3, scariest game ever

Went to Walmart to get my copy, but sold out. Now I see on CNN, DOOM 3 is the scariest game ever? anyone got any screenshots? WOW, I cant believe it. What is the hype all about, are the visuals that stunning?MSN promo

the are visuals are great, the gameplay is your usual fps horror game but none the less it's a great game period, sorry but i don't have screenshots

Jup it is scary allright
Doom every where, open any page or and doom this doom that..
o well if the kids are finished with it (about a day & half),
they will realise it is just another S.Sam, but without the fun...

I actually doubt its THE most scary game ever... Especially since it seems to be somewhat stiff, do this, do that.. do it again (like its predecessors). No game is scarier than Clive Barker's Undying, that is a real scare... this is just "jump out of the closet" times 500.

but you need the system, speakers and playing environment and be little unexpecting, i mean after a while its not that scary and during the day its pretty normal for me

this is just one scary moment in the game for me LOL was walking down a pitch black corrodor i head banging sounds i proceed banging sounds get louder and louder then i notice the banging is comeing from that door down the stairs i go further towards the door with my trusty flashlight :P i changed the gun to something with a kick ass firepower "XXXXX XXX" i notice the blood everwhere XXXX XXXXXXX littered the place blood on walls on the door on everything i was thinking this isnt good is it then i go to open the door and XXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXX XXX XXXX XXXXXX XXX XX XX XXX XXX my speakers went all crazy with XXXXX XXXXX hehe i will narrow this down for ya i almost shat myself now x that by 100 and you will get the idea of DOOM 3`s atmospher and sounds and scaryness

EDIT : after thinking , i dont want to give any spoilers out so i have edited some of XXXXXX out hehe

Alone in the Dark 1 and Undying hold the scary bar as far as I'm concerned. I remember trying to look around the corner of my monitor in Alone in the Dark, trying to see what was coming!

Haven't played Doom 3 yet. Going to get it it in a coupla'...three hours. (40 mile roundtrip drive)
Nothing has ever been as scary as Painkiller to me. What's scary about PK, Dooms 1 and 2...Quake,
was for me at least, the Satanic imagery. So far D3 looks more like Resident Evil....have to see for myself.

it's all in the sound, the game is scary bu it scares more with demons and zombies poping out of nowhere then anything else

Too many were expecting something else with this game.

I like it. Yes. There is a lot of popping out of monsters. After awhile you figure out that they keep trying to ambush you because their so easy to kill.

The thing about D3 that makes it scary is that its such a believable world. They have many devices to draw you into the world right from the beginning.

Yes, undying had them too, but I wouldn’t say undying is scarier. There were parts in undying (like the going out to the castle ruins) where the game was not scary at all. Where as in Doom it stays consistent, constant logs from the dead, carnage everywhere, which makes it scarier in my books.

But whatever. I think D3 is a piece of art while others think its a piece of crap. Think what you will.

Though I never thought ID could ever make a game this good underneath the gloss.

they usea lot of cheap tricks, and other tatics to put on most there scare most you can see comeing...

like you shoot the dead bodies, there not there to jump up at you etc.....

Ahhhh yeah your right D3 does look like resident evil well the atmosphere is and scary factor
also i persionaly think Resident evils ZOMBIES AI was better than the ZOMBIES AI in doom 3

or was it that the zombies in Resident evil where harder lol

+ in doom 3 there isnt meny zombies that jump through windows and slober towards you like there was in resident evil games

apart from that i love the game

if only the ZOMBIES wernt so dumb in Doom 3 hehe though they do scare the crap out me when they jump out a no where in packs hehe

i gotta admit though if you liked the resident evil games as much as i do then your in for a treat with doom 3

funny you mention that, i shot ever body til it dissapearred becausde i was used to them just popping back up again in res evil or grabbing you leg. well at least now i know i dont have to do that anymore.

Pumping up to Ultra High settings and increasing difficulty did it for me in a pitch black room with only the erie green case lights on. The graphics are so intense with the sound that it can really get to you. Into one area and all the lights go out and noises come at you fast. No time for flash light just aim and shoot into the darkness until no noise. Turn on the light and the last ones bloody mess laying in front of you. Yeah, I like it!!!

its definitely worth buying...but its not teh scariest game ever.

system shock 2 was scarier, and teh gfx are horrid lol...i cant imagine if they remade that game with new gfx...i would crap myself.

Doom 3 may not be the most scary game there is but it sure is cinematic and very well done.I'm having alot of fun with it,the graphics are amazing (imo).I just made it to hell and the gates ...,omg awesome.
