Upcoming Doom 3 Engine Games

Quake 4 - Ravensoft
RTCW 2 - Unknown Developer
"Unamed Game Mentioned on Splash Damage Site" - Splash Damage/Activision (Could be RTCW 2)
SOF3 - Ravensoft
COD2 - Activision (Early speculation says Doom 3 Engine) Mentioned here
Doom 3 Expansion - Unknown Developer - Mentioned Here

SOF3 has me surprised, I didn't think it was announced, but it was here (Discuss here please.) awhile back. I didn't know that!

I'm gonna look for more info about this stuff..

UPDATE 1: It appears that Splash Damage is hiring people for a new game based on the Doom 3 engine. This could be for RTCW2 (They helped make Enemy Territory), but I hope not because Nerve Software (developer for the first RTCW's MP did a better job) in my opinion.

Ravensoft and ID are very tight. Ever since their successes with Q3 Engine, it's no surprise that ID Software gave them the right to develop Quake 4.

yeh i remember playing heretic when i was about 6 or 7 years old (10 years ago or so) it was great fun… i then lost that game for a while until i bought the heretic/hexen/deathkings bundle - i still play heretic occasionally these days… and heretic 2 was fun aswell, but to me it didn't have the magic of heretic (maybe because i was so young when i first played it)

You'll be surprised. An original Chrono Trigger Cart sells for big bucks on E-Bay~!

I never played Hexen/Heretic that extensively..

But no style: Thats Crono Trigger. That and Secret of mana are well, best games ever. Funny how they were SNES games from square that were not FF.

Anyway. I'll be happy to see another SOF. I got sick of the SP of 2, but the multiplayer was a blast.

I'm just wondering how long we'll have to wait for these titles.

Source is:
-stuff from valve. CS2, HL2 and some other projects that will be stream only.
-Vampire: Bloodlines.
-Arx Fatalis 2(unanounced).

People misnamed the Doom 3 Engine as Quake 4 engine, because every single engine which came out was always on a Quake game. And it's kinda stupid of ID to make an entire new engine for Quake 4...but even then it'll be OpenGL based.

That's very interesting. I didn't know Valve licensed out their engine. That is very good news

I don't know if any of you guys saw this or remember, but when Alien Vs Predator 2 came out, I seem to recall an interview with one of the developers, where they stated they'd like to use the doom 3 engine for the next game if there is one, and if they can afford the liscensing. This was probably a couple years ago. Dont ask me how I remember, maybe just because I remember thinking the doom 3 engine and AVP sound like a perfect match.

Well first off welcome to DriverHeaven. Second i cant agree more, Doom 3 engine would really be a perfect match to AvP.
