Doom 3 Sound Issue - Not stutter I think
As far as I can tell I have no sound issues in the game other than in the rendered cutscenes, like the first briefing in the game from the Sarge.
Basically what happens is that the last part of the last word in every sentence is cut off and it moves on to the next sentence. Like if it were to try to say, "Find the scientist. Bring him back. Make him worship a demonic pumpkin. Then laugh in his face." It would sound like, "Find the scienBring him bMake him worship a demonic pumThen laugh in his face." No other game exhibits this issue. Not Far Cry, not America's Army, not BF1942. Using M-Audio Revolution 7.1 with latest drivers. AMD Barton 3200 Asus A7N8X Deluxe 1.04 1GB ram Radeon 9800 Pro flashed to XT Revo 7.1 XP Pro - SP1a w/ DX9.0c |

That's weird, it sounds like a hardware specific problem almost, but I saw some weird sync problems in some of the cut-scenes too- (Fortissimo III) just not anything like what you are talking about. I think what I saw was just part of the game..
Did you try using a different sound card just to see if there's a difference? That might be the only thing you can do.

What sound options do you have enabled for the game?

i was under the impression that this game did not use H/W audio at all...so I doubt that is the problem here...but im at a loss otherwise.

Yeah, it's fine for me if I have directional accurate sound with a good sub/center channel.. All EAX is are a bunch of filters- and echoes.. I'm running EAX in FarCry via the Fort-III and it sounds ok, but not great- I think it would sound better on an Audigy2 probably... What did I win?
