baldur's gate II and hi resolutions help
I don't know if anyone even plays this game anymore.
I know I still do. Did anyone know there's going to be a baldur's gate III? At least, thats what pcgamer will have a preview of in their next game!Anyways, here's my problem. So I got this slammin alienware laptop. I've got all these supported resolutions. Unfortunately, I have two issues: The first is, that some resolutions such as 1280x960 make my desktop too big and I can scroll up and down on the edges. If I put it on 1280x1024 it's fine, though. This also happens up all the way up to 1680x1050. Some resolutions in between don't fit on my screen. Is there a way to fix this? Now, I dont know if it's related or not, but here goes. Before I had installed omega's drivers, the highest resolution supported for baldur's gate 2 was 1024x768. This is what I've been running for a long time. After I installed omega's drivers, I happen to notice in the b2 config that all the resolutions were opened up. I started the games, and the borders and menu were all too large. If I loaded the game, the characters were all at the hi res, but the borders were so big that I could only see the left border and I couldn't see the bottom menu. I tried messing with the screen res trying to find a way in the display properties, but I can't find anything. I figure this is somehow connected to the above problem, but I just can't figure it out. There is a scale to image option, but that's already checked, and I've tried unchecking it. That's no good. I remember reading in some old baldur's gate forums about this, but from what I could tell is that their only problem was the borders were big, but they could still see all of them. I can only see the left border. If anyone is a genius in this area, I would appreciate some help.

Is there a way to fix this? Sorry, no. Use a standard RES. I don't see why you'd want to play BG2 at any res higher than 1024...especially because even on my 19" everyone looks tiny at that res.

I love this game! I'm waiting for BG3....but NWN is great
![]() Any "custom" res will not work properly...just stick to normal resolutions. 1280x1024 is great for BG2.

There's no tweak...just advanced config.

Try and get ahold of the expansion for BG1 as well, I'm not sure if bgtutu works without it, and it's one of the best expansions I've seen for any game. You could also buy the "Original Saga" pack, which has BG1 + TotSC on 3 discs. |

your laptop screen has a maximum resolution (on mine it's 1600x1200) above that you have to scroll around the screen to see the edges. the screen has a maximum number of pixels.. just play at your max screens max res.
