Good news. I wish they do a remake of Shogun:Total War some day, but this Rome theme has been looking promising.

The demo is fun but feels a bit rough around the edges, at least in the interface. I expect the full game to have some improvements there. Another thing that strikes me is how the 3D unit graphics does make things look nicer, but at the same time perhaps also more messy. Unit identification is something that is very important on a battlefield, and with Shogun's simple 2D cardboard figures one could see the difference between similar unit types like light and medium infantry from a fairly long distance. Here it's much more difficult to see what type the units are, even when the type difference is broader. It's sometimes even fortunate that your own units shout out their unit type when you click on them, to help you out.

Still, in the long run that might be something that one gets more accustomed to. This should be a very fun game and I want it, now.

I would concur...if you're interested there is a patch here that apparently allows you to play the Battle of Tribrea from the Roman side rather than Carthaginian. Haven't tried it out yet because I'm in work

Does it look like medeval did? or have the graphics been updated?
this game would be so good for me if it was visually pleasing too!
