I dunno if any of you have played CMR05 or the xpand rally demo but somehow, I get stutters at high fps... Löike the moment i let go the acceleration and reaccelerate, i have a momentary stutter,,, And it's really annoying !!! I tried to change my AGP latency to 64 which I heard reduces this but it easily grew by 5 times!!! (the stutters I mean)

I think I used to have the same problems with 512 MB of ram. Fixed it by installing an additional 512 MB RAM

Xpand rally is nothing but a stutter machine--- I turned the res down to 800 x 600 and all the graphic settings to absolute minimum in the ATI CP and also in the game-
'It looked like complete crap- like a Playstation 1 game, or maybe a 3d gameboy game, and guess what? Insanely slow stuttering in many spots.. And Farcry and DoomIII runs great on my PC- FarCry at 1200 x 900 -- Xpand rally sucks...

Anyway CMr5 was pretty smooth for me, but I wasn't too impressed w/ it..


Wait till you try Richard Burns Rally - you will all be in for a huge rally game treat.. I predict best Rally sim ever made.. It's out now actually!

Im in the same boat with this game
CMR4 and CMR5 DEMO both stutter for me

the start of a race is ok then when i get to the peak of speed or take a corner the BACKGROUND stutters the car does not stutter just the background (TREE`s ECT)

and i find i cant play those games and i should be able to
i have a think a good system

and for the life of me i cant stop the stuttering in this game its annoying the god dam hell out of me
and if anyone here can tell me my system isnt good enough then i think i will flip a lid lol
i also have my latency set to 32 useing ATI tool.

now here is something for ya this game 2005 demo has the most CRAP realistic Handling i have ever seen the car seems to hover rather than stick to roads like a bubble car lol
same thing with CMR4

why cant they stick to the handleing that CMR02 had its far better imho and it does not stutter one bit... IMHO CODeMASTERS SUCK they need to realy do something about there codeing and they shoudl change there name to CRAPCODERSMASTERS

Jup you should try DTM/Toca driver2..
For steering wheels: only top wheels work(sometimes)
Cars drive like.. eh well not like racingcars should (get with one wheel 1 cm on the grass and car slips and fly anywhere except back on the track,
and cars feels generally uncontrolable...
Cornering with more than one car before you and itsa slideshow..
Free spyware installed without your knowledge(starforce), no decent game saveing, set car up anyway you like it but it wont make any difference
Asked CM if there will be a patch for the quirks, no they said 1 patch is enough.. will be fixed when you buy the next game..

yeah right.. noway Jose i'' wait for a game dev who'd actually have drivven a car... hurry up Simbin please??

you do know there the worst PSU`s on the planet


and they destroy more computers that any other psu in production
there just cheap and nasty

you better keep a eye on those rails, as when those PSU`s blow they take everything with em....

Richard burns rally looks great!!! Ya well CMR5 just stutters when I let go of the accelartion and accelerate agin instantes latter (making a good run impossible) as is with Xpand Rally... It's strange though cuz in the replays in CMR5, it's fine.... Just the actual game part

Nah the worst are the ones you'd get when buying a cheap Case or Computer

But that is why I got the 550 instead of the 400/450, for extra room on the rails..
But it is runnin over a year and a half now, without any problem..

@ Sandok, should see the replay's in Race driver 2, they fly everywhere, except the right direction

lol ya i tried the demo... That game is far from a GT3.....

And while ur talkin abt PSU's, are thermal take PSU's good? Cuz I got a pure power and dunno if it's any good

They are ok, not the best but far from the worst.. I personally thing Antecs are really good for the money (I got the true control 550w) and Enermax makes some nice ones but they are way more for same power.. PC power and Cooling are very good too.

my 500w i have has very good rails apart from the 5+v rail its currently at 4.34v OUCH :/

just wanted to say I get stuttering as well in CMR4 and 5. its a poo game engine... its not that bad buts its there.
and I got 1GB or ram

Ya I got 2 giga of ram and it stutters... I hate game ports from consoles!!!

I have absolutely no stuttering in CMR4- I play it all the time, even on-line it's smooth as silk.. It's not a sim like RBR is though.... which is an awesome rally sim.

Um, I have 1 gig ram, but lots of people do I guess...

I run 1024 x 768, 4x AA, 8xAF- or 1200 x 900, 2xAA, 8x AF- All settings in game maxed out...

OC'd 9700 pro- Windows XP is tweaked. All the usual, no indexing, no messenger, no system restore, all unneeded services disabled... No running apps in background..

I don't know, it just runs smooth, I turn off v-sync, do you? Maybe that's your problem.. Rasta Monsta runs it smooth too.. I have no idea why it wouldn't run smooth on anyone's machine.

I also have stutters in certain games with no success on solving that issue i upgraded from ti4400 (GF4) to 9800XT and some games begin to stutter I did whatever is possible, cleaninstall of windows, changing vidcard latency etc. etc. It's strange that issue have ony people with ATI cards Strange indeed, I'll take 6800GT for testing and if it doesn't stutter I'll change 9800XT to 6800GT. My friend has X800Pro and games stutter on his rig also
The games I tested and Do stutter are:
1. ColinMcrae Rally 04
2. ColinMcrae Rally 2005 demo
3. Xpand Rally DEMO (Stutters as HELL )
4. GTA Vice City (very few moments when game stutters, game playable thow)
5. Rallysport Challange
One thing people. Try to run ColinMcrae Rally 04 with NOSOUND in shortcut, it should be displayed like this: "E:\Games\Colin McRae Rally 04\cmr4.exe" NOSOUND
The game stops stuttering and runs as smooth as silk!! but with no sound at all of cource
I thought it was Creative's Live! issue. But no It aapeares ATI+ any soundcard + that games do stutter I tested with Live!, onboard soundcard (ASUS P4C800 Mobo), Cmedias cheap&crap soundcard, Audigy 1. Mostly stutering game is using onboard sound and Cmedia sound. Least stuttering using Live! or Audigy 1.

I have a Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 and I obviously don't use EAX HD- I get absolutely smooth gameplay. The sound sounds like crap though- Not because of the soundcard though, it is a great soundcard, I think it's because it on'y sounds right on an Audigy.. I can tell that itr would sound good, but the engine sound is all static and cuts in and out..
