The new Dawn of War? Yes, it's the best I have seen yet. It's totally 3D and awesome graphics. I like the way it works too, squad leaders, stronghold, and so on. I really like the intro alot.

yea, i just downloaded while my friend was over here (he is a warhammer nut, has over 1000 $ invested in his dark elf army, ~600$ in his britonian army, and has some various other peices)...this is the warhammer universe set way into the future from the orginal warhammer, which is basically medieval type age.

it's really fun though, me and my friend are gonna get it just to play each other on the internet...we'll probably be teaming againts cpus though, because hes not very good at RTS games.

Yeah it crashed on my nvidia board earlier, the X800XT seems to run it better.

ok here is how I would best explain it from Warcraft III.

revamp the engine
overhaul the gameplay
have a squad system with leaders for each squad and subleaders, healers.
add more advanced cut scenes/movies
add more sophisicated buildings and units
add in customisable units (mechs and tanks etc).

seriously though if you like warcraft III you will love this. im a massive fan of warcraft III, command and conquer --- im a total RTS fanatic. this is the best of them all IMO. only one to come close is spellforce and its more RPG.

Tried the demo and liked it quite well. I was largely unimpressed with Warcraft 3 and never was that much of a fan of the "Warhammer 40k" board games, but there is a definite feeling of something new to this game. Seemed quite CPU-heavy even in the not that huge demo map, but perhaps there is some performance optimisations in the full version. Will have to check it out sooner or later.

DoW is the first AAA tittle to come out of Warhammer. The previous ones were much less than what they could have been.

This game gets better the further you get into it ! The terminator squads and the orbital strikes. OMG ! the engine is really first class some lovely partical effects.

Absolutely stunning game, I cant praise it enough.

I think it's cool how you can build a squad, then assign different weapons and positions to each member. On top of that, you can obtain abilities for the commander that let him better lead the troops, and cast spells on enemies. I love it when the commander unit for Chaos runs into a group of enemies and does that nova ring (i dont konw the name of it) and sends all the enemies flying.

another awesome part...an ai opponent sent this robot thing to confront this group of soldiers i had. i watched in horror as my units barely did any damage to it, and the robot picked them up one by one, slammed them into the ground (or his other fist) and threw them into rock walls, where they died. they bounced along the ground, blood everywhere...i was like "awesome!" and "o crap!" at the same time hehe.

Just finish the tutorial and the first mission. All I can say is AWESOME!!!
Definitely the best rts games i've played so far. I used to be addicted with warcraft 3 and I think this one will take my addiction. One question about the hero (commander): will he ever have special attacks/abilities like in warcraft 3?

yes...the usual commander only has rally, and a strong melee weapon...but the better commanders like the librarians and such can use special attcks. some can do psychic attacks, others call in a satellite laser barrage...stuff liek that

Great looking game. By far this is truly: "Orcs in Space". (For those who remember people's reaction to StarCraft when it was first announced).

Despite its many parallels with WarCraft 3, it's a solid game in terms of gameplay. It looks great, plays great, however it is buggy. My brother was going through the tutorial and he got stuck in an infinite loop. He could move his units around, but he could not access any of the menus! LOL After that he just killed off the game in Task Manager and picked up the GC controller to play NFSU to get all hyped up for NFSU2.

wonderful game, cant wait for any add on packs, but a little short on the missions side.

Ok, well buggy isn't entirely correct, but it isn't bug-free. And when a bug like that appears in the tutorial.. that's not the greatest thing. It's still a good game though. Moonwalking? You sure it's a bug? Maybe it's an Easter Egg? LOL

Anybody try the multiplayer?
