Half Life 2 + goodies... Steam or not?

I got a tiny dilema... I want CS Source but I don't really trust steam... What do you guys think I should do? Wait for boxies and all or go for steam? I'm not uber desperate or anything... But I wouldn't mind CS since it's soon my bday

Yes new technology or a new service can seem scay at first but think of steam this way lets say you have to walk to well to get water then all of a sudden someone invents pipes and waterworks that takes the water from the well to your house it would sound scary at first

the steam packages are currently avalible to buy through steam or www.steampowered.com, you can download the content although it is not currently released, you will be able to play it instantly once its released, if your connected to the network at that time. also this allows you to play it from any machine, just install steam and wait for the giant ass download of hl2 with out ever touching a cd!
isnt it convenient?

Yeah, just download Steam and purchase the package of your choice. You will be able to play all older games and CS:Source instantly and HL2 will be unlocked the day it is released.
I personally have never had an issue with Steam, in fact it is extremely fast and stable.
