I'm sure if you recognize the name, you've played American McGee's Alice, one the single coolest PC games out there-not so much for the gameplay aspect, but the environment and character design and development is SWEET. The weapons in the game kick ass too.
The reason I'm bringing him up is because he and famed horror movie czar George Romero are creating an MMORPG based on flicks like Dead Alive, Dawn of the Dead, The Gates of Hell, Susperia(a Dario Argento movie), Zombie(a Luccio Fulci movie), and others that were in the vein of gory, creepy and scary ass movies. It's kind of the same idea behind Resident Evil: Outbreak, only with a lot better interaction with the dead. The artwork looks devilish as well- and it's a first/third person shooter/action romp. What else could you ask for?

No, good ol' George has been making movies since the dawn of the commercialized horror movie. It's not really a "movie" based game, either-just based on the writing and visuals from the gamut of movies I listed.
Yeah, Daikatana did suck. Five years of production for that?!?!?!?

Well yeah...but that game made me like fairy tales a WHOLE LOT more.
![]() He did a lot of art and musical contribution to Nine Inch Nails' album The Downward Spiral and to their The Perfect Drug single. Which makes him instantly cool.

Yeah...now most games are just based solely on graphics more than gameplay. Oh well...

Yeah, it's alright. I'm strictly an old-school gamer though. I've been playing since E.T. on the Atari flopped into the ground(literally), when PITFALL! was king, and when Super Mario Bros. was THE GAME. So I really have different tastes when it comes to newer games.

First game I remember playing on a PC was actually ping pong. Then Frog and Babies(catch babies from a burning building or something like that), Larry back when he was in "black and white". My first PC, my very own... was 16Mhz and had 2Mb RAM. Heh... I loved games like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
But I also like a lot of the new games, some are dreadfully boring. Others are just plain good. But it all depends on what kind of games you like, what your style has evolved into, if it has. |

I have had Alice basically since i had my PC which is a couple of years old. I think the game was definitely not hyped up enough. It plays more like an older school console game w/ much better graphics. I think the PC could use a few more games like that. It sure puts an evil twist on alice in wonderland. I have heard that Wes Craven was working on a movie based on this game, but that was prob a yr ago and havent heard anything since. I heard it in a few places and they even listed some of the actors/actresses they wanted so I dunno whats up w/ it.

I would be looking foward to seeing this movie if it ever materializes. It would basically be a twisted horror version of alice in wonderland and i think it has potential to be good. There is a somewhat twisted version of snow white out there w/ sigourney weaver in it that is pretty decent, but Alice should be alot more twisted than that.
I just dug this up, but its from Aug. 2002 "Milla Jovovich to play Alice? The star of the recent film Resident Evil wants to be in the upcoming film adaptation of American McGee's Alice. Entertainment Weekly has posted an American McGee's Alice. According to the interview, which was reported on by DarkHorizons, Jovovich enjoyed starring in Resident Evil because it was about killing zombies, not real people, and Alice is appealing because the film's violence would also be against non-human characters. We'll post more information about the upcoming film as it becomes available." As for Resident Evil........I liked the first one better the second one did not really have much of a story and it was more of a cheesy action/horror movie. It still wasnt too bad though.

Hopefully they'll get full copyright licensing so they can actually make it look like the game...not some cheap scam like Street Fighter was...
