try running at 1024x768 first of all
secondly, turn antialiasing all the way off, and turn world detail way down. if that still isnt enough, turn car geometry down a bit hope that helps...this game is fairly demanding...but to be honest...a constant 20fps looks fine to me...it's just the sudden drops tand incosistancies that make it look bad, unlike an online shooter, where you need 60fps...lol |

i think all 3 of us had our settings maxed, if u can't achieve acceptable fps, then lower settings....
Btw, wats ur comp stats ( i hope ur settings were maxed when u say u can't get past 30) |

Well i have no issues with fps, but I run the game at 1024x768. With full detail and 2AA 8AF it runs around 65fps.

Strange thing for me is that if I raise OR lower the detail level in the games basic video settings it always sets AA to full. Only way I can avoid this is to make sure that I only make changes in advanced settings as ANY changes in basic settings will turn on AA and my framerate goes all to hell.
I was initially getting pretty incredible performance for a XP1800+ / 8500DV 64/ 1gb DDR / running almost highest settings at 1280x1024 (except for AA, and MBlur & Trails which I don't like anyway) but the last few days I find I'm having to reduce detail/textures to get acceptable FPS. Could this have anything to do with the extra textures from all the car mods? Just a thought, I can't think why else my FPS suddenly went to hell.... EDIT: how are you guys checking framerates?
