There is NO WAY Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 are more violent than Manhunt.

EyeToy doesn't sound very safe... And the people who judge those games are pure morons. A Dress-Me-Up Barbie game is more violent than some of those.

Penny Arcade has a great comic strip about it. I completely agree with PA on this one. I am surprised they do not have Technocop in their list. Sure it was released like 15 years ago but man was it violent! Great game too!

Agreed.

And what about Painkiller?
There is a confusion between action, gore and violence.

Anyway, I definitely think that games do not need to be violent to be fun and addictive. If you need violence and blood, watch TV news, it is free.

Wink

Note that the mentioned Hitman game is not even out yet, and won't be this year. And then they should see the teenagers playing Rome: Total War, laughing as their trained wardogs chase down the fleeing enemies and following up with cavalry to make sure none of the thousands get away alive. Then sacking rome, killing tens of thousands to make them easier to govern. But it's all in a historical context and without graphical blood stains so I guess then it doesn't matter that one is supposed to play a murderous dictator.

Darn Right.. who made this list? what a joke.. Manhunt is pretty brutal violence. Even I was a little shook initially when I played Manhunt..I'm 35! Course it lasted a mere few seconds and I was taking everyone out with my baseball bat alone.. lol, unfortunately even Manhunt got boring.. might try it again sometime tho.. I love the sounds when you wack people in the head..

The reason Doom 3 in number one is because Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility is obviously a Christian organization. Doom 3 deals with Hell and Satan and all that stuff. Plus it is a bit more widely known than some of the others. BTW what the hell.. excuse me... heck is "Gunslinger Girls 2"?

Just noticed this, but Prince of Persia? Is that not a game where you hack and slach your way through hords of undead? Thay have that on the list of non-violent games. Don't know for sure, but the commercials look pretty violent to me.

Yes, but in the 1st Prince of PErsia game, not the new one your seeing on TV, there wasn't any blood if I remember, hence why they put it on the non-violent. Although I must say even without blood hacking people up is violent in its self.
