Half Life 2

Actualy I've heard that there are 4 different endings depending on what difficulty setting you're playing on. I've just beat the "easy" one and was wondering what levels were everyone else playing on when they beat it. I think the easier the difficulty setting is, the crapier the ending. The person who told me about the endings, his brother played it and beat it on 3 different levels and he says it had different endings for each difficulty level so far.

I sure hope thats true because the ending blew chunks on easy. I'm going to take another round threw it on normal or something here soon. But I still have Thief3(picked it up for $5CDN brand new ),MetalGearSoild3 ,GTA:SA and BloodRayne to play n' pass before I do that so it will be awhile :\

Hmmm, trying to play it on Hard when I have time, I'm in Nova Prospect or just past it... I'll let you know if it's different, if I can beat it....

But regardless....the game ends at the same place, right?

Good luck on Hard I sure hope the ending is different. I'm going to try it again on hard I think, but I want to wait a little while I played it in 29 hours and 43 minutes, don't realy have 30 hours just sitting around waiting for me, LOL.

As far as it ending in the same place, I have no Idea, I imagine that if they are different, they will all end in a way to begin in the same place in HL 3.

I've been searching for proof of the ending thing (that's how I found this forum) and I did see confirmation from sierra that they were for sure starting the HL 3 project. But I didn't read much about it cause I was looking for proof of multiple endings.

If it ends the same, I think I will propably not play it again on single player. But now that I beet it I should kick ass in Multiplayer.

i was quite dissapointed by the ending, such an epic game, i was really hoping for an epic ending!! Still... a fantastic game!!

I just hope they keep the quality up, if HL3 is going to be better than HL2... well we're in for a massive treat!

No, because Half-Life 3 will be the cliffhanger for Half Life 4. Same with HALO 3.

Don't buy it again, just play Half-Life: Source (and if you got the cheap version of HL2 just upgrade to silver and that has HL:S)

And HL2's ending is many times better than Halo 2's . Halo's just stopped while you were going to do something (I'm not telling to prevent spoilage ) At least HL2 you beat the Doc.

Any of you know if they plan an expansion pack to further/complete the story?

I did like the ending and it did make me feel stoned on acid, I mean that the artist was. Because of hd problems and stuff I just finally finished it and am going through withdrawal as I could really see the atmosphere after a while.

I already beat Halo 2 a while back . It was an awsome ending . Much better than HL2 ending. Despite it leaving you hanging, i was actually able to understand the story line of Halo 2. HL2 on the other hand, all i found myself doing was just going around and killing everything that tried to kill me. There weren't any objectives other than get to get to places. Halo 2 on the other hand, gave me objectives to do before i could move on to the next area/level. The ending of HL2, left me feeling like WTF ? I didn't want to see some old fool coming out of thin air and making a huge explosion turn out to be a big bunch of nothingness. Waste of time IMO. Where as Halo 2 left me wanting more, wanting to get Halo 3, wanting to know what happens next.

My theory as to why HL2s ending was a mega anticlimax is they probably had one whole game that they wanted to release and call "Half Life 2". But then the already extended deadline came along, and they had already spent too much time on it so they just decided to chop it in half and release the one half as HL2.

I dunno, sounds like it could be the reason.

I was not dissapointed with the end of HL2 for a simple reason : the whole game was rubbish... well in my opinion.
