My system is an Athlon XP 2.4Ghz, 1GB RAM & ATI 9800XT; currently running the demo at 1280*1024 with pretty much everything turned all the way up except FSAA. No slowdowns whatsoever, so no complains here. And so far the game hasnt disappointed......

My point is It was devopled on / for, in co operaton with ,optumized for, theroly tested on nvidia cards. There hasn't been a ment to be played game tha didn't have a big with ati cards since the start of the program. Be it a game bug, optumized game path bug or driver bug what ever/who even ... It's disgusts me! the point being to make it look like ati has more compabilty and driver problems with games then they actally have. I'm sure it also effects thier driver progress .To give added performance when the games played on a nvidia branded card. It's a underhanded way of marketing nvidia cards nothing more or less..ATI some times bending over backwards doing what they can on thier end.... It takes two to tango and not everything can be fixed from the driver end. I mean come on in an ideal situation the company should test on nvidia and ATI hardware and report any not related bugs to them along with a working beta demo or what ever.. thats no to much to ask... they should then work togeather to resolve the issue and everyone goes home happy especally the consumer... and all companies involved

I didn't care for it much, the squad combat just didn't seam to "flow". Having "icons" pop up telling me what to do with my squad where was kind of annoying also. What if I don't want my dude to snipe at the stupid icon? Bollocks.

Completed the demo. Looks awesome, and feels great. I like small tactical squad commanding, fits this game perfectly. I as well played with everything maxed, 1280x1024.
Remember to use F1-F4 keys for squad commanding, like "hold that position!"(position is the spot where your mouse points) etc..

the only thing i didn't like about it is how you save the game. I like to have a couple manually saved games besides the auto-save and quick saves. I'd like it better if it was in the main menu screen, but instead you gotta click a bunch of different stuff to go into the manual save. Hope they change that for the final release.

well, the thing about the saving is that it's a completely different menu. On the main menu it says "save game." you click it, and it brings up another menu. In that menu it gives you a bunch of options of how to save. Then it asks if you want to confirm your save after you've already said "save." After that you gotta exit back to the main menu, then resume game. It's just too many steps to save a game.
right now it's like: Main menu > save > yes/no > confirm > main menu > confirm return to main menu > resume game > are you sure you want to return to main menu? > yes/no > return to game. Well, might be a little bit overexaggerated, but that's how it feels like. It should be more like: Main menu > save > yes/no > resume game. |
