Yea but the system isn't worth buying. Its inferior to the xbox in quality and the ps2 in quantity (games).

Xbox seems like the best bet, they just need to come out with more games.

With my son's 5th birthday looming on Thursday, (I've got to finish putting his new pc together soon!), I gotta ask what the price of Xbox's are lately and what compelling reasons I might have to buy one over a PS2? My son is a PS1 addict, and don't PS2s play DVDs?

Any input would be appreciated.

from what ive heard, although the gamecube doesnt match the spec of the Xbox, the games are meant to be coming out strong soon, and it is more powerful than the more expensive PS2. I think the price and general good nintendo game support ... will certainly get it sales and a strong user base.

Nintendo is a childrens system with childrens games. It will never be able to satisfy the older, adolesent audience. That's its downfall.

That isn't enough to make adolesents want to buy a gamecube over an Xbox.

Although Nintendo's main demographic is the younger audience, it's not quite fair to label it a "kiddie" system (unless, of course, you posted this in the Flame Warzone

). It has a few games that I enjoy playing. The main thing keeping me from buying it is just that it doesn't have a lot of EXCLUSIVE games that I want to play. Most of the games it has that I like, I can get for the PS2 or Xbox. It is a decent system, though.

Actually, thats its selling point. I agree, the games are targeted towards younder audiences, but they are very good games. Although I would prefer games with more mature graphics, 9 times out of 10 the gameplay is far superior because kids have to play it.

The games also have to be more addictive as kids have a much shorter attention spa - sorry - gotta play
