PlayStation 3 to not be called PlayStation 3

I really hope they don't change the name, for one they would lose a lot of there reputation, people that maybe potential buyers that haven't ever actually bought a playstation project might think they stopped making sytems or maybe switched what the system was meant for. According to the news on the net microsoft decided not to call the next xbox the xbox2 because it would sound inferior to something that had a three in the title, which is the ps3. And of course they have apparently decided to go with the worst named console in history the "360" how lame is that. so apparently the system can go in a full circle and keep going the same way after that, doesn't even make since for a console. And i am not just a playstation guy, i play my xbox more, so i think i am unbiased. so i say stick with the more well now name because it seems that putting "ps" in front of the system works very well for sony, don't change what works.

I don't see what the big dea is.

I personally think giving it a name is better than a number really imho. They can keep the PlayStation or Station bit if they want. But drop the numbers after 2 imho.

I'm not an expert on this field....i have an xbox...terrible graphics though! Can't wait until PS3 or what ever it's name....is in the shops! Sry my english!

I think the biggest give aways are how close the design is to the PSP and that it say's "UMD" on the front(the PSP's media is UMD). PS3 is slated to use Blu-ray

actually if you look at that picture there is a blu-ray drive its just more like the style of a car cd player you stick it in and it pulls it rest of the way in. Sony also has said that you will be able to play psp games on it when it comes out, thus the inclusion of the umd slot on the picture. It could be an authentic picture especially when you think about how close they are to revealing it to the public, which I believe is next month, however i hope that isn't what it looks like because it almost looks as lame as the name of the next xbox, the xbox360, which is very lame. i guess thats just my opinion though.

If Sony released the console in the form(if its real, which I think its not) then they would probably automatically lose the console war
