The deeper side of gaming
wasn't sure if this should go into off-topic or gaming forum...but anyway here goes...
im an english major, so i have the habit of analyzing everthing i come into contact with, trying to see the deeper meaning in them/symbolism/liteary devices. this extends to movies, tv shows, etc. for example, i have always thought that the zelda series is a commentary on the consequences of greed and the abuse of power and/or the consequences of neglecting the value of our enviornment. other games have this same occurance, where they are more than a game. in addition, in many ways, games often cause its players to expand their horizons by becomming an "art" in themselves. in the resident evil series, as well as in others, players come into contact with fine art pieces that they otherwise wouldn't experience if they hadn't played the game. so, my question is: what other games are to be considered "art", or have a deeper meaning to them. it doesn't matter how obscure the meaning is, as long as you can back it up. when does a game become more than a game-when does it become art? also please don't assume that because i am an english major that i have also grasped the complexities of english grammar.
