I thought "bugger it; I'll register and risk the spam. I want to play this. But everytime I fill the bloody form in and click submit, it just refreshs the page.

Any ideas?

Played it.

Pros:

Great special effects!
Awesome sound effects for everything!

Cons:

Bland MP.
Level design is a quite poor.
HL2 looks better and runs better than this game.

Never played HL2 MP, but i think this game is awesome. Shooting the walls, the dust effect, blood, proxie mines, weapons... I dont like the team death match however. too hard to tell who is on your team...

I will definatly buy this game...

I agree with all the cons, the levels even with 4x fsaa on look like crap at times. MP isnt that great, hopefully will be improved. Hoping that the single player will be amazing

I'm not seeing this game for it's MP, but it's impressive SP!

I'm sure the SP will be rewarding. My money is going to BF2 and its MP.

I really dont want to give EA any more money.

I love monolith, but lets face it, they have been very hit or miss lately. AvP2 was kinda bland, Matrix online is forgettable(yes I know sega worked on it too). Compaired to masterpeices like Tron 2.0. So, I guess we'll see.

SOE owns MxO now, so it will either become better or worse......

I looked on that site and it says that you need to pre-order the game to play in the beta. It looks like they are taking some queues from Guild Wars (ArenaNet). Guild Wars did something similar where if you pre-ordered you were able to participate in the monthly beta's to generate interest in the game.

You don't have to pre-order it to play the beta. Just fill the info for the beta and then download it. I like this game a lot, so I'll be buying it when it comes out. But beofree that happens, I'm going to get a copy of BF2. It shold come out this week right?

wow what a hassle to download. first had to enter information, then had to sign up for fileplanet, had to enter information there again, then it sent me back to the fear page and had to re-enter all the information again, then the image key wouldn't show up in firefox. so i had to do the whole thing over again in IE. took nearly 10 minutes to get to the download page

got around 80% and my computer crashed...now it won't go more than 1% and the download quits. i guess i am out.

Anytime you are given a key for fileplanet you can always go back to the main file planet page and hit the "My account" link on the left and then hit the last link that says "Beta Keys Archive"

Must say, I wasn't all that impressed. Shame really, as I've been looking forward to this. But it is the MP, and as has already been stated, it's probably SP the will see this game shine.

And I guess it's important to remember that it is a beta test.

Yeah its still a beta but i find myself playing it a lot. I think the bullet and blood effects are really well done. Player skins need work. Sound is pretty good as well.

Loving the fact you can jump and kick to. I was running around just about to reload after emptying a clip into a guy and all of a sudden to guys spawn next to a wall. So as I was reloading and ran ...jumped.. and killed both of them with one flying kick to their heads. Fun fun fun.

The game doesn't seem to work for me. Whenever I try to join a game, it goes to the loading screen and says "Connecting to (name of server)" and gets stuck there.

When I try hosting a game and I click on the Launch button, it just makes a clicking sound but doesn't do anything at all

My firewall is off, and I have the latest drivers. The game runs fine when I do the benchmark in the display options...
