Raymond "No_Style" Lim has another of his excellent gaming articles finished for your viewing pleasure. This time he is taking a look at a rather quirky and enjoyable 3d Platform shooter on both the PC and PS2.

"Psychonauts bizarre art style compliments the game’s already bizarre storyline very well. The art style is reminiscent of the ones used in “The Nightmare Before Christmas” or the movie “Antz”. It does not really matter where the art style came from, but needless to say it is used very well. The character and level designs are all individually unique and colorful. The effort is definitely put in to creating a unique look for each of the different levels. In one level you could be running through a battlefield and then on the next level you could be running through a beautifully decorated mansion. Diversity works extremely well for Psychonauts."

From the screenshot, I found that this game look like a DX7 game like giant of kabuto ... full use of T&L but environnement texture details not really up ...character looks great though .

it's a refreshingly good game...

only problem is my Radeon 9700 Pro can't handle it at 1920x1080.. soooo slooow... 1280x720 seems to be okay though.. (i'm playing it on my High Definition TV

)

Just installed this on my PC but haven't actually played it yet. The story looks fun and I watched the intro and I have to admit I'm very intrigued. Can't wait to get home.

This game got my x800 to 62C, beating Doom3's record of about 60C.

I will play it when I have the time, I haven't played a good platformer in quite a while and hopefully this will be great
