Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube

Ok, im late to the party, but I just picked this up today and all I can say is WOW. What a game!

Just wait till you beat it. The mercenaries is so fun. You can unlock up to 4 characters and they all have their own zombie mashing gear.

Though I do admit the single player has a steap learning curve compaired to earlier offerings.

RE4 was my first attempt at an RE game. I've seen people play parts of the other ones and I've heard enough talk to warrant me giving it a try. I don't think they warmed up to new franchise fans enough. I felt out of the loop the second I got control of the main character.

I havent seen RE4 (Due to me not having a GC), but Ive been told in great detail how great it is, one day I may get a 2nd hand GC and get it, ive been a fan of the RE series, (RE 2 was one of the finest games on PS in my opinion), so I make give it a look sometime.

Thats really very interesting, im honestly quite baffled as to why you felt like that, as I didnt even read the instructions on how to play it and virtually walked through the first 3 or 4 stages.

Its a really great game, I love the atmosphere and I think the control is nigh on perfect, all the double button configurations for reloading etc.

I didn't feel compelled to shoot zombies or even get past them. I felt compelled to just leave the town. This became even more cemented when I realized that these zombies don't follow typical headshot-bane. I was supposed to play some midget who caps everyone in the shin and runs away.

Yep, that is a good way to do it actually. They are super spanish zombies, of course they require two shots to the head.

Still RE4 is not as hard as the RE1 remake on the gamecube. RE1 on the PS1 you could easily knife zombies heads off with Chris. They took that out in the remake that made me sad as it takes too long to get a good zombie mashing gun.

! actually I like the way they work in this one better than the last few, the last few were very predictable and just basically limped towards you, the people in this one actually work in little teams in certain situations and try to flank you. Ok its not farcry level of AI nor is it wonderfully hard but it gives a decent impression of intelligence abeit it undead intelligence. This is also the first RE that has specific damage areas, long overdue.

The storyline is good too, it gets quite involved later.

Im actually playing Devil May Cry 3 on the PS2 atm, its excellent. Just beat god of war, wonderful title.

DMC3 was great, watched my bro play it. He beat GoW as well. Great game from beginning to end. I shall elaborate more when the time comes..

GoW was simply an amazing game.

RE4, again, amazing. its hard too which is a very welcome change over the last couple of them. heh, wait till you beat the game and try out hard mode. its truely insane.

I know this is a really old thread but i just got a RE4 gamecube pack special edition and pick'd up REmake and im hooked. RE4 is really an amazing game, well worthy of the game of the year award. I'm a really big REs fan, played all of them, but RE4 is really a special game in the REs universe. Hope to get a x360 by the time RE5 comes out, can't really wait.

My only gripe against RE4 is the "Press <button here> to avoid dying game" during movie sequences. I'm trying to absorb the game's movie visuals and story, and I hate being interrupted by those things. It's even worse that you are delivered a nice game over screen when you screw up. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there..

heh well what do ya know? those are the only 4 games i own for my GC. RE remake, RE4, M1 and M2.

ive never even played double dash. my mario kart gameing ended with Mario Kart 64, still one of the best arcade racers ever.

I really recomend getting a cube just for this game, i really do. If you get your hands on a RE4 gamecube special edition like i did even better, it's really worth it guys. Besides, the cube is really cheap atm, and you can get used games really cheap. I just ordered yesterday Eternal Darkness, really hope it's as good as the reviews say it is, and it was 20 bucks.

I trying to find RE0 but i'm having a really hard time to find one, new or used. Should pick up Metroid 1 and 2 and see what Judas was talking about all this time.

if you dont have one, i highly recomend getting a Wavebird. its quite possibly the best controller ive ever used.

as for RE0, personaly i really didnt like it.

and Enternal Darkness, thats a damn fine game.

Yeah, everybody says great things about the wavebird, i might just pick one up if i find one at a good price. About RE0 i'm just really curious about that game and it's the only RE's game i really haven't played yet.
