Wow, they must have spent .2 seconds thinking up this list.

Obvious misses:
- chainsaw from Doom
- BFG 9000
- AWP from CounterStrike...you know, the most popular FPS ever?
- Light sabre from dark forces
- M95 Barett from BF2 (haha just kidding)

Not nearly as popular, but I think the MG42 in Day of Defeat is one of the best support weapons ever in an FPS.

Halo pistol? What a load of crap. Such a boring simple weapon but because the designers didnt fix it that qualifies at kickass?

BFG9000 definately is my pick that gun made you scared to use close range.

The shrink gun in dn3d rocked. They missed out on the singularity gun in Unreal 2, that weapon was so awesome to fire off and have everything around it be sucked into oblivion. I'm also quite a fan of the Gauss gun in HL1, or the grenade launcher in quake, but the list they have is pretty good.
