??? RTCW with new Omega & nVidia drivers?

Wow, I haven't been able to play Return To Castle Wolfenstein for more than 10 minutes without it freezing and my monitor shutting off by itself with the newest Omega and newest nVidia-41.09 drivers... what the hell? It never froze with the earlier drivers, and my monitor has NEVER shut off by itself before. Any ideas? This happening to anyone else?

No, it's out.

It's the real deal, DX9 is out. I just tried out RTCW for a while in XP and didn't have any problems. It ran really nice for me and I always left it running since me last post whether I played it or not. (I cheated with godmode whenever I wasn't playing and just let the soldiers attack me. ) No problems here, did you do any tweaks to your OS or your viddy card?

Can you give me a url for DX9 full? And yeah I think I just did like two, three tweaks to my comp, but one for speed (my speed sucks so much ass I dont know why, I'm on cable, this morning it was fixed for some reason but now it's all shitty again) and two more, I dont think it was big just slight, but hey.. it worked fine on old drivers (2.9.x.x), it never froze, it only freezes on the latest omega/nvidia drivers.

Nah.. shit still freezes, I'm pretty sure it's the drivers, cause everything works fine if the drivers are signed ( like the 2.9.x.x drivers )

Well buddy its quite weird that you having a 4600 card and having problems with drivers that are optimised for GF4 cards.

Im pretty sure its not the drivers but a combination of the newr drivers and something else.

Can you try to UNINSTALL old drivers and disable any tweaks ??
Then install the newer drivers.

I had similar problems once and was convinced it was the vid drivers but at one point i had to do a clean install (virus) and used the same drivers in the new install......guess what??....no more problems.

Ever considered that it may be your VID-Card overheating?
Or a bad bios setting ?
Or even a corrupt installation of windows?

Its too bad that the more GPU power we get the more complicated things get...

BTW: I just finished RTCW with the 41.09 drivers without any freezes except one that was caused from my SB live plat. and after i tuned down the hardware settings in my multimedia it was fine.

P.S What a great game !!!!

Heheh.. great game indeed, I think I fixed it.. I updated my AGP, or VGA.. one of those (lol) and I called Gainward -- the peeps who made my card.. and they told me that I can't install the drivers from nVidia on my card.. because my card is specially made for the drivers of gainward.. and I downloaded their drivers and everything is working fine now! Greekrage: Come on the Jolt (TRAM) server sometime.. my name is TEKNIKAL.. I phucking OWN.

Actually... nevermind.. it still freezes, what the FUCK!?!?!?
Yesterday it didn't freeze but today it freezes everytime I try to play, but this time the monitor doesn't shut off, the game just freezes completely and I obviously have to turn off the computer manually cause faggot winxp doesn't have the ctrl+alt+del restart function.... what the hell could be the problem?

Will look around for you for some fragging , i'm offthen on j3 .

That what you discraibed looks like refresh problem.
The refresh fix don't work for me with the new drivers so i'm stuck right now with 60Hz .
Try to see running without fullscreen(ctrl-enter) to see if it freezes.
