Nintendo Revolution controller ideas
So, since Nintendo says the revolutionary aspect of their new console is in the controller, what do you guys think (or hope) the controller will weild to make it revolutionary? I read on a forum that Nintendo plans to reveal their entire console on September 16th.
I really have no clue as to what Nintendo can do for the controller, but I can't wait to see what it is

There has been rumors all over that console. The best I heard had to do with holograms and advanced 3D. Personally, I think the system is going to flop (which is sad, cause i am a fan). Nintendo is going to have a hard time competing.
As far as the controller goes, who knows, maybe a chip in you head, lol. I'm not sure the way to create a stir in the community is through the controller, its the games that matter. When big N gets a great new revolutionary idea, you get the nintendo DS (junk IMO). NOthing more than a novelty, neat for a bit, but nothing that is very interesting. |

The concept for the controller now is definitely not going through, they wouldn't release something like that to the public, especially looking like that. I think they may make another budget console like the GC but only the future holds the answers to our inquiries.

Nintendo's got the right strategy this time, and is in a position to take back a lot of market share from sony and microsoft. Risk vs reward; Nintendo is taking a big risk and I think there will be a big reward.
While the other two consoles are running yet another iterative release that demand lots of money for the ideal setup and offer only a visual gain over the last generation, Nintendo is redefining HOW we play games. Have you felt like games are getting stale lately? It's proven that sequels do as good as their previous titles, everyone is just making sequels to get money. Take a look at the nintendo ds however, where there's innovation coming out the ears. When you give designers a new way to create and enjoy games, the players win. What's part two of the winning strategy? This thing is going to be cheap. I can't afford 500 dollars to get into an xbox360, not to mention the thousands needed for a TV that supports high resolution. The revolution will nickel and dime the competition just like the DS is doing to the PSP. And don't think developers aren't excited about new ways to make games. They were excited to work with the DS and they're just as excited to work with the revolution.

Yea, but it's a shame that the majority of people today are all about graphics. Sure, most of the games look nice, but the game usually sucks. On consoles at least. Take a game like Far Cry. I'm not sure how well it's doing on the Xbox, but I don't think that there will be another game like that for a while. That was a game that had excellent graphics, but the gameplay was just as great.
Also, people are bound to get bored of all the WW2 games coming out. But like I said, most people today are just like, "OMG! An explosion! This game kicks ASS!" I showed some people the Revolution controller, some just stared with a disgusted face, but some thought that it was pretty cool.

One thing to remember....Nintendo doesn't sell their systems for a loss like Sony and MS do. They make money on each and every unit they sell, so they STILL make money even if the system demographically flops. There is always the extremely loyal Nintendo fans that will buy anything Nintendo makes.
As long a they continue to have that loyal fanbase and never sell their systems for a loss, I don't think Ninty cares if they are in 3rd in console sales. They still make money.... ...and they STILL wear the handheld crown. As for ideas on the new controller......I'd have to actually play with one for awhile and see how THEY are using it before I can come up with any new ideas for using it. |

Gamecube has the best graphics of the previous generation, and it was the cheapest. It sold more units than the dreamcast and can hardy be considered a 'failure'. Unlike Xbox in japan. Plus they've sold like 10million DS units at debut. Nintendo is like a shark that nobody knows is there. Which in a way is to their advantage. |

Nintendo made more money during christmas with the gamecube than microsoft did with the xbox 360
![]() The world may think nintendo is in third place, but their business strategy is first class.

I have the feeling this system will rock. Nintendo definitely has the right idea with this one, and i can't wait to get my hands on it (it will be the first console since the n64 that i've purchased). The controller looks to be awesome, and has a ton of potential, especially with different addon devices being made for it.

'Tis said the Revolution will only cost $150-$200.
I hope Nintendo can break the trend of increasingly expensive consoles and deliver a real winner at a great cost. Unlike the PS3 which is said to cost in the $800 range to manufacture. |

Yep, that's it. Though I'm pretty sure the actual controller part is an add-on. You can use the "remote" by itself. Personally, I'm going with the way it looks in that picture

Nintendo is gunna make Sony cry and M$ crap it's corporate pants.
They could stay afloat off of games they make in house alone....something nobody else can claim. And yes, M$ is eating about $80 per 360, and Sony is slated to eat ATLEAST $150, possibly as much as $250per PS3....ninento will rake in, I'm just guessing, $50 per Revolution at launch, and then drop the price down as soon as they can shrink the die, putting it at $150 retail, and about a $15 per console profit. Also, keep in mind the 360 and PS3 will suffer from "game dirth"....meanign there will be TONS of really ugly tongue and cheek 3rd party games [tetris clones, corny 256 color racing games, etc] and very few real "console selling" titles, as only the biggest of companies [Ubisoft, EA, Atari and MS] can afford to push the envelope and keep up with the graphics. Sure there will be the Halo 3's, and the Metal Gear Solid 4's, and the Madden 2006's....but there will also be a flood of THQ titles [looking the same as they did when the quake 3 engine was still cool], a load of crappy racing games [like all these newly popular BMX and ATV titles], and they'll all look jut like an XBox or PS2 game. Think about it....GTA makes more $$$ then damned near every game concieved by mankind....and it's engine hasn't changed in YEARS [street date for it was late 2001]. Graphics sell consoles during pre-release....as thew 360 did, and PS3 will do.....after that, "fun" sells them...as the DS and Gamecube continue to do. And if Nintendo can indeed pull off the emulator feature that allows #2 downloads of all the old nintendo/SNES games...that alone will sell a half million machines. Hell..I'd buy one without a single game and just play that if it does indeed sell for $150 a console. $200 then lands you 10 classic games, a console to play them on, and a 2nd controller for a friend......or a downpayment to reserve a PS3 or 360...you're call

I've always been a Nintendo fan. Never really appreciated Playstation or Xbox. Half of them are really just sports game and First person Shooters. I hate sports games, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE FPS games, but on consoles.. they're just blah.
Zelda is by far my favorite series
