First person shooters getting old.

Actually, while I consider Deus Ex to be one of the best PC games ever, it didn't have everything. Its endings were truly, truly, dissapointing. :P

Color me crazy but I enjoyed both HL and Deus Ex.

HL was really the first FPS that I ever played. I remember playing it on my V2-8meg and was amazed at what they had come up with. I never really got into the on-line part of it though.

Both games had good plots (government corruption and the associated cover ups) and disappointing endings.

Well, I sorta expected those endings, so I wasn't disappointed or elated over them... they weren't too bad if you ask me, though they probably made the sequel (isn't there one coming out at some point?) very hard to do...

I thought Deus Ex was awesome... I was amazed with what a TNT 32mb RAGE could do with 128mb PC133 ram, and a pentium III 1ghz.... I almost shit my pants it was so amazing.

Sequel is coming out. JC Denton is now an old man and you can play either male or female roles - both of which affect the plot lines from he start

I would expect that considering it's much older than them. In it's time though it was a breakthrough game.

Every time I get sick of first person shooters a game like MOH or NOLF2 comes out and I get sucked back in

Sounds pretty good - and that different role thing is going to be VERY interesting, and will add a LOT of replay value for me... I've already played through Deus Ex 3 times - once on easy, once on hard, and once with the cheats on

Counterstrike 1.6 BETA is going public 16th February, new weapons and a shield is going to be introduced.

I;m currently waiting for PlanetSide.. mmofps. planetside.station.sony.com if you havent heard of it. It's almost in beta (2 weeks hopefully) and is scheduled for a Q1 release date.
