your post is a bit confusing... how many ports on your router? and is the pc in your room networked with the pc and router in other room? just not very clear. are both pc's in your house hooked into the internet?

ok, i have a 2 wire router, i think its 4 ports, the router is located in the house office, like 2 rooms away from here, the router is connected to the office pc and my pc and a dsl modem, i have my pc in my room, but the thing is, that this router, does the network over the phone line, weird but inexpensive, so i have the office pc, router, and dsl modem, in the office, then i have my pc in my room, networked through the phoneline, which ends up from the router to my pc. yes the 2 pc's are networked together with the router

so the phone line running from your phone jack into your pc in your room.... what does it plug into in your pc? a NIC card? USB port? how does your pc interface with a phone line?
And i have a feeling that you won't be able to be online on your pc and online with your xbox at the same time this way. If thats not an issue, we can probably get you going via ICS on your pc and a NIC card. What OS you have? |

your link won't show up for me..
![]() how about this though... move the router into your room. then you can plug the xbox right in. have the office pc connect to router in your room via the phone line... will that work? if not, and you have to use your phone line to hook up to the router, you're either going to have to unplug your pc and hook up your xbox (one at a time sort of thing. unplug cable from nic card in pc and plug it into xbox) or you'll have to buy another nic card and set up Internet connection sharing though I don't know how that will work with win98.... would save you from having to plug and unplug each time but I still don't think you'll have both pc and xbox online at once... I would run a long ass cable through the house... Drill some holes in drywall 'n all
