Just finished off Divine Divinity. What an awsome game. Now looking for another RPG type game to play.
Here's a quick list of stuff I already played: NWN, IWD I + II Baldars Gate II (the 1st one sucked) Dungeon Seige Summoner Wizardry 8 Wizards and Warriors Any suggestions welcome (well not rude ones )PS. Looking for D&D type genres and no onlines. Last edited by jkayca2; Dec 30, 2002 at 02:58 PM. |

arrh I don't want to recommend it but Asherons Call 2 is what a lot of my friends have become addicted to online RPG...couple of them need help, they have even strated setting alarm clocks so they can wake up & check battles every couple of hours, there spending upto 16 hours a day playing it, you should see there faces when the uk server crashes...talk about cold turkey

Divine Divinity is pretty decent. I would second Planescape, that is a great game.

Chrono Trigger is 1 of my favorite alltime rpgs, along with FF3 and the best part is you can get them for free...of course I owned them so it is legal for me to own the roms

Why didn't you like the first one? Morrowind that is. Too buggy? I finished Morrowind and quite enjoyed it, I'd say a must have for an RPG addict. Haven't finished the add on though, but it's pretty good too. What kind of system do you have?

I have actually bought a used copy of Morrowind. For $20 CDN I figured I couldn't go wrong. It is fairly enjoyable. But if I never have to kill another cliff racer it won't be too soon! Once again they missed the mark on the mapping feature. Now its too plain and doesn't let you make notes on it. The journal is lackluster too. Searching through it for a quest you picked up earlier can be tedious. You also can't make your own notes in it. Divine Divinity had a great journal. It seperated out the quests from the conversations and also grouped each quest section together to make it easy to follow. You could also filter out quests that have been completed.

Jkayca2, there are a couple of things you can do to 'double your fun', if you will, with Morrowind. First, find the expansion pack. It updates your game to allow placing notes on the map, as well as filtering and sorting the quests. It breaks them down into completed and uncompleted tasks, a feature worth the expansion price alone. Also, if you visit the morrowind site, you'll find a plugin that disables the cliff racers......

Might & Magic
Diablo (basic, but fun)

Have you played NWN much online? I didn't play mine much after playing through the SP game but now I've started playing it online a bit. Is allright though it can get a bit boring.

That's the best thing about it. You can play as little or as much as you want. I don't play it much at all but it's still fun. Though the server I play on (I'm in New Zealand) is a Peristant World so You can jump on at any time, join a crew of people and go do some quests then leave it for a week.

There's plenty of RPG out there, but try to stay away from the so-called Japs RPG (FF, CT, KH)
. My personal recommendation : Arcanum and Planescape Torment

Greyhawk sounds good. I hope it supports turn based combat. IWD and BG didn't really but POR 2 did. I loved POR 2 except the dungeons got a little repetitive.

you can try Ultima Online - Age of Shadows. UO has been around a long time. this new expansion offers some great in-game incentives not available with previous expansions. if you like to PvP, UO - AoS is the way to go!

Ok seems like everyone is suggesting the same set of games here, but i've got a question have you played any non fantasy based rpgs yet? like fallout 1 and 2? (both were excellent) tactics wasn't as much an rpg as 1 or 2 but it was fun none the less should look into those two they are worth it.
