I just completed the 23'rd and last mission in Unreal2....i must say i am a little bit dissapointed,they could have made it a little bit longer. But damn!! it was fun as long as it lasted!!!

So Cartman..... It's kinda like NOLF2......ended too quickly? See, NOLF2 (No One Lives Forever 2) was soooooooooo damn good that I never wanted it to end. Then I was so sad that it was over. It was sooooo fun and entertaining and just flat out original. Then it ended..

I so totally agree with you. That game was RAW as hell! It was nice and smooth. Those ninjas were pretty cool too. I loved that game. So many things to do in it. I hope they make a NOLF 3 soon.

Considering that it was like a 2-3 year gap between the first two... I can't imagine seeing NOLF3 anytime soon. I remember back when I had a description to PC Gamer and NOLF was praised in the magazine, until they gave game of the year to Deus Ex (also a great game).

EAX troubles
I have posted it in the official U2 forums and there are a lot of people complaining about EAX errors with this game. When EAX is on, I always get an UALAudio error and it quits the game. This doesnt happen when EAX is off but why should I play in plain stereo when I have an Audigy??
Anyway, it is possible to set UseDefaultDriver variable to False under [ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem] in Unreal2.ini but the sound quality is not on par with True setting and also it has a huge impact on performance. A lot of people experience it, Live, A1 and A2 owners. I am using an Audigy Player SB0090 with 323 A2 drivers under Win XP Pro SP1. I absolutely have no problems with UT2003 with EAX/Hardware 3D sound on. Also, GTA3 and NFSHP:2 runs just fine with EAX. |

I had the same problems with EAX on, and I have a feeling we will be seeing a patch soon for Unreal 2. there are some other bug issues.

Zardon, what kinda problems?
For example, I use the High/High setting for shadows without any problems. But when I set the Max Visible Shadows option to the highest available, the game kicks me out I believe my poor 128 MB GF4 Ti 4200 cant handle so many shadows at once

Whoo! I've been playing Counter-Strike for more than 4 hours! Damn that shit is addictive, almost like crack! Anyway, I finally stopped playing when my mom was getting up for work. She told me to go to sleep. Hah! Sleep....who needs it. I sure don't that's for sure. Man I wish I could have a lotta weed right now. But the problem is, I don't! Damn! At least I have $10 so I can go get a dime. The only problem with that is that how the f**k am i supposed to find a dime at 7am?? Anyone? Oh, well, I guess I'll just wait. What a day.

Yeah, I was planning on going to sleep for a few hours now. I went to sleep at 7am and at like 8:30 i was waken up by yelling. What a f**kin house i live in, damn! Cant even get any sleep around here. My d is actually pretty good about these things. He's around pretty much the whole day. I was even very pleasantly surprised when I needed bud at 1am and he delivered. How nice is that? I usually don't call him in the morning though cuz he sleeps late. I'll just have to wait till at least 10:30 to call his ass. Maybe I'll go for a quick nap before that though. Oh, as you (may) have noticed, now I have a very nice avatar under my name. Very nice, indeed. I made this avatar when I first joined the site, hoping to use it someday, and finally, it's here. I'm gonna be honest with you, the artwork on the avatar didn't take me too long. When actually took me longer was figuring out how to use imageready to animate the image. But I finally got it. Took me maybe a good 10 min. Now that I look at it, I wanna put more work into it. But then again, I'm lazy so I guess I'll just be keepin this one for a long while.

that's wierd.. using high/ultra-high with 16 shadows works on my 8500le 128mb. =P There haven't been any bugs that have kicked me out so far, but there have been some mapping / placement errors that *shouldn't* be there.. =p but a co-op patch would be nice.

Hah.....I know a dude whose number is ***-weed (no kidding! I used *** for the first 3 numbers so he wouldn't get calls all the time LOL!) and his hours are between 6pm and 10am where I could get my THC fix. Only problem is his stuff is mostly seeds and stems....
ANYWAY, I got to check out Unreal 2. It's real pretty, ran smooth for me at 1024x768x32. It never locked on me with EAX turned on, it just seemed to hiccup more. But if I used FRAPS to see the framerate, I would get a crash within a short time. Something about a device assertion failure. Hmmm...well, to be honest, I didn't get to play it much, I had to go to work. But it certainly has some of the best graphics I've seen in a PC game. I just might play an FPS game again! I really liked that trippy intro. Are there many other single-player games out there with this level of quality in the graphics? |

Which version of fraps did you use? 19a is the latest, right?

19a is what I was using. Come to think of it, maybe it was EAX that was causing the crash, because I was trying both at the same time. I haven't used either since and everything has been running good.
One thing I sure noticed, it loads ALOT faster on a system with 1gig of RAM as compared to my 512. |

Well, I finally passed it. Coulda finished it last night but I wanted to save some playing for today. Anyway, it was short, but the graphics just blew me away. For the most part, it was pretty easy. I guess I should try it on a harder mode but not for a while. For now, it's back to Counter-Strike. I've included an endgame screenshot:

I'm taking it slowly after seeing how Zardon ripped it apart in around a day. I can't remember where I'm upto I think I'm after the last artifact, on an Alien planet thingy in some kind of place where they've been doing weird experiments on living specimens, like my favourite leg 'ed. that's Leg Head or Leg Edd So far it's rocking
