Sorry but i also strongly disagree with you're comment about ss2......ss2 is simply total point and shoot trash in my opinion.But i am only going by the demo.ss2 could be played blind folded,And it would still bore the hell out of me.

q4 and fear (disregarding some repetitive missions & level design) has much more depth and playability factor tha ss2. Not to mention graphically Superior.

I just got the x850 xt 256 agp (2.6 intel/1gb ram), and took out ati's drivers and stuff and put in omega's. Thanks but that didn't help either. im clueless at this point.. i've tried everything i can think of and still no go... is there a free benchmark program or something i can compare what im getting to other cards? any more suggestions will be greatly appreciated..

Still working on this game myself. Taking my time, and try to enjoy it. I normally don't game during the week. I like it better than Fear or SS2 so far. However, kinda unfair to compare it to SS2. I do have to agree with Zardon though. I liked Fear but it did feel like the same level, over, and over again. There should of been more super natural instances.

I haven't played it in a few days- first a patch came out for another game I play- then COD2 came out.. Damn, so many awesome games to play lately.
-and I haven't even touched FEAR yet.

loll same here.. Im addicted to CoD2 right now. Haven't player FEAR over a week and Quake for over 5-6 days! MP is just awesome. I was a fan of W3A, so the Q4 MP Gameplay is AWESOME!!! hehe

anyoen know if its possible to bind two commands to one key like in the old days with quake2 for quake4? like for example. i want to bind two weapons to say Mwheeldown. ?

p.s i updated my bios seems to have done the trick. high 1024x768 avg 30-60 fps depending on how many players.. thanks for all the help..

really enjoyed SS2 forsome mindless blasting but MP co-op is the way to go with that game

FEAR has become stunningly repetative with office floor after office floor ..... very dissapointing

But Quake has been awesome a right little nugget ... still waiting on CoD2

Quake 4 looks very nice though I thought it was goin to be longer from what was posted. Hey lets put the Makron and the Nexus in the same room...still good though, the multiplayer is not my type and has not improved over any previous versions.

F.E.A.R. multi really needs a PB or something.

Well, when I wrote my previous comments I hadn't yet gotten very far in quake 4, and I have to say now that I probably like it better than FEAR. I cannot however revoke my comments about Serious Sam 2, even though they are two different styles of play. So, there's that.

same here. Havent touched FEAR yet. Come to think of it i havent even finished the russian campaign for COD2 and havent finished AOE III.

Soo many Games to finish yet soo little time. College Apps due this month, SATs and Finals !!!!

GAHHHH . i think i will hold off these games till christmas..

Now, Im just asking, and I know my PC is low end right now, im kinda strapped for cash so I cant upgrade till Holidays.

AMD Athlon 3000+ 2.2GHz
ATI Radeon 9600XT 500/400
512mb DDR 333

I can usually get decent FPS with most everygame I've played.
I generally stick to medium settings with nothing special turned on.

My question is, Can I run this game in 1024x768 on medium textures? Or am I gonna have to go low with 1024x768?

i am kind of curious why Caine became a Strogg in the game , i mean nothing changed his Rhino squad was still his squad and the strogg still attack caine on sight

except for a few Security screens there was no real reason to change , no superior stamina or strength

think the strogg angle was misused there could have been a few moments when Caine had to avaid killing Squad members from other teams who didnt recognise him etc

still a damn fine game TBH and hopefully one that will have some nice mods

Also I am pretty sure you run a little faster as a strogg. I'm kind of disappointed that they set up for a quake 5 so hard, like, I heard in some sort of press release or conversation that id was going to try to get away from sequels and start doing some new IP, I hope that they do, I mean , I love their franchises, but I wish that there was something else you know?

I'm still kidna surprised why the marines around you just don't blow you away when they see you. Though that would make it kinda hard because you'd have to kill every moving thing to help the Humans out who are trying to kill you anyway...

Well I don't see them anywhere. They always make comments like look a strogg, or how did a strogg get on the ship. Seems to me they would have killed him on sight.

Maybe in the game you are "famous" so everyone knows if they mess with you , they will be beaten down by your superior fragging skill.

Having just played it from start to finish
Great game, 1000X better then doom III (could have been LOL)

Only wish the game was longer and the only gripes would
be the back tracking. As in you got to point A from point B
and then have return to point A. They reuse some areas a
few times but over all kept my attention. (Also the shotgun
is and some of the other guns are too weak IMO)

Only wish it where longer but there will likely be a sequel / expansion...

What I am most amazed about, is how damn smooth and actually how fast it runs on an ATI card.. being that it is OGL and all. I never played D3 on my X800XL, but I winder if D3 would run as good as Q4 on an X800XL?

dam... I am amazed too. I have everything on High at 1280x860 (why 860?) and it runs smooth for most parts.. even in the cooling area just before you set of the EMP and the spider comes in.. OMG most amazing thing ever... Striders are cool these are better

wicked game...really enjoying myself
