Well the game is out today (in the US at least), anyone pick it up yet? I am hoping my retailers here got it so I can pick it up after work.

i have been on the phone all morning and cant find it anywhere in oregon.maybe try washington now.

well Best Buy and Circuit City are a no go, both say "sum tym this week" called up Babbages in the mall and they said they are expecting it today in delivery, we'll have to see, ima swing by there while im out n see wats up, cant find this puppy anywhere!

Strange, nobody has it yet. I am going to swing to EB today after work and maybe to walmart if they don't have it. I have seen nothing about this game anywhere (besides the review on IGN that I post in the news yesterday), what is wrong. its COD 2!

I ordered an evga 7800GT yesterday and it should be here tomorrow. As soon as I get it i'm registering to get a free copy of COD2. I can't wait. The demo was awsome!

I'll pick it up today I guess, I have like 60 bucks in my wallet, 35 on Oblivion, and I'm returning Act of War used because it did not come with a CD key. Probably will only pay 5-10 bucks out of pocket.

6 cds? are you freaking joking me?

Man that 10bucks more for collectors edition looks mighty fine right about now : )

Lloyd Center EB Games, man. I just got off a two hour session that FLEW by.

DX9 is a pain. . .brings my rig to its knees. DX7 on teh other hand, 16x12 with eye candy on, smooth as butter. Nine just ain't worth it!

OK, time to go back in. . .

i got it first thing yesturday morning.if it wasnt for work i would still be playing.oh ya and my 21 month old son clawing at my legs.this game rocks and seems to be one of the most pollished games i have ever seen.even more so than the first cod.i wish all games were released this nice.

Got it yesturday and with the system in the sig... i am getting straight 30 fps when running no aa and no af or both on. Kinda funny. The IQ is amazing i just love the way you can hold your breath while snippering!

with the latest omegas i am getting 50 to 80 fps depending on the map.this game kicks serious but in mp.i am going to start the sp tonight when i get some time and maybe get some screenies if i can quit long enough to post them.for all that are wondering if this game is worth it,dont.go get it as soon as piossible.later

Switch to DX7 rendering and you'll get a massive framerate increase, and very little IQ loss, IMHO.

I picked up the game today at Best Buy(Long Island N.Y.) and also asked the manager if I could have the boxed t-shirt which she gave me plus the pre-order discount so I was very happy.The game has 6 discs plus a DVD which i still have to check out.Anyway the game-play is a little different with a grenade icon when one is thrown at you which is quite often.So far the graphics are top-notch and plays a bit better than F.E.A.R. or Quake 4 and the trend I`m seeing w/ all three games is upgrade your comp!I`m using a Sony Multiscan G500 21 inch so it looks great but I`m used to turning the eye candy all the way up and its a no go till my next upgrade.Anyway,you will love this game and the audio is excellent as in C.O.D. and C.O.D. United Offensive.Have Fun!!!

Game is greatm, and runs like butter on my system... but...
I have found numerous bugs running the game at max. The most irritating, it won't progress though the objectives, when I complete them, it will just act like nothing has happened and I will be stuck. It happened several times at several points. Anyone else?

it is pretty amazing, with the new beta drivers from nvidia 1920x1200 is perfectly playable on the 7800GTX, stunning graphics.

The demo ran really good for me with all gfx options maxed out-- does the actual game run a lot slower than the demo?

I think it does a bit. . .there seems to be more going on. I couldn't get good framerates with hi-res & AA/AF with DX9. . .I think I was playing at 12x10, 2xAF. I just think it looks better at 16x12, 4AA with DX7 renderer.

hehe game runs smooth as silk for me 1280x1024 4xaa16af all maxed settings , DX9
all settings on extra.

though DX7 runs extreamly smooth and its a lot easier on the graphics card
but dam i dont know what to choose from DX9 or 7 hehe

I have a source, I cant really say where but I have heard that some final optimisation went into the code for nvidia cards/drivers, some people are saying this has had a detrimental affect on ATI cards/drivers.

I cant say myself as I have no ATI hardware connected up atm but the full game runs better than the demo did on the 7800GTX helped more than likely by the new beta drivers Nvidia put out a few days ago.

There are some stages were DX9 rendering will aid the visuals, although as people are noticing the performance hit can be quite severe depending on the hardware configuration.
