***SPOILER***Morrowind-Tribunal -- Points and Questions
I have no idea how many of our forum members have played "Tribunal" -- the addon to Morrowind. But, it's really a very good and worthy 'sequel' to the adventure.
But, I've come across an opponent that simply refuses to die!!! Outside the Temple I came across this beggar named, Gaeron (sp?). This little pipsqueak kept begging for money and I kept refusing his demands. Finally, he got so ticked off at me that he wouldn't talk to me anymore. BUT, after making some rounds down in the sewers, I came back out of the Temple only to be confronted by this same 'former' beggar and he is equipped with some very nifty armor (Ebony) and weapons (also Ebony). The only thing he wants from me is to DIE! At HIS hands! Fortunately, I have a saved game just prior to meeting up with him and went back to get some Exclusive Restore Health potions. 18 bottles to be exact!! In my next encounter, my summons spells barely made a commotion and I've gone through ALL 18 bottles of restore health and he seems to be taking nearly NO DAMAGE. So, now for the question: How do you defeat this guy? OR, should I simply try to avoid him for now? |

sounds like you're not high enough level to take him yet.
talk to him later, he's not connected to any other quest he just has nice armor

I'm at Level 33. Someone else mentioned not using enchanted weapons against him.

yeah he reflects magic, so you'll be killing yourself with magic weapons or spells.
he's hard to hit so make sure you have 100+ in your weapon skill

I was pounding him with Keening. That seemed to do a little damage. But, I've gone through over 28 bottles of Exclusive Restore Health potions (after buying some more) and he STILL doesn't seem to be taking enough damage.
Someone else said he has over 700 points of Luck. Somehow, I've got to reduce his majicka and defenses. So far, this is the most worthy opponent I've had since very early in Morrowind when I tried too soon to take care of those 'bad people' at the Corner Club in Balmora. |

Hahahahaha!!
Gaeron is no more!!!! First I broke his shield. Then I drew him near the temple doors so I could sneak in and refresh my spells. Then, I would cast all my summons, build up my Luck, and, with weapon in hand, go through the doors once again and commence the battle. With all my summons working on him, too, he often couldn't respond as quickly and was taking hits fast and furious. This was a battle more like I had expected with Dagoth Ur. |

No wonder it was so difficult! Keening sucks! Sure it has nice enchantments but it does very, very little damage. Get a real weapon, even Sunder is much better.

man, I have to play that game again. I beat morrowind, tribunal and never got to Bloodmoon (which I own). Maybe after COD2 and Quake 4 I'll reinstall and wait for Oblivion.

UPDATED: New Question
Would you trade Glass Armor (rating 166) with Ebony Armor (rating 88 +/-)? I'm wondering if enchanting the Ebony will help much. I have close to 100,000 drakes that I can spend on enchantments.

UPDATE:
Let's see if I can get this post in one single attempt. ![]() If anyone has played Morrowind and NOT played Tribunal, you're missing a GRAND experience!! In fact, playing this is starting to make the upcoming OBLIVION more understandable...which I suppose is to be expected since it's a sequel. But, OBLIVION is mentioned several times already. At present, where I am in the game, I've re-forged Neravar's TRUEFLAME blade. What a blade it is!!! Screenshots on the way..... ![]()

It appears that I've pretty much completed Tribunal. Unless, that is, I need to go face Vivec now. Or, is that part of Bloodmoon?
Anyway, I had a time down in the Clockwork City. Seems there is this one place that 'requires' some Speed potions/spells in order to beat out a rotating arm. OR, you can use the 1000 point Acrobatic spell like I did.

yeah what he said: the rating of the different armours depend on your skill in that type of armour (light, medium and heavy)
Vivec is a part of the main quest, not either of the expansions. Killing him is totally optional. I liked Bloodmoon much better than Tribunal. I finally got around to watching those Oblivion movies, wow, that looks amazing!

![]() BTW, I'm off on the BLOODMOON episode. ![]() EDIT: I forgot to mention: I went and spoke with Vivec. Since there appears to be no threat from him....at least for now....I've decided to let him be. He actually seems to be a decent chap.
