Big Grin Shadowbane Release Date!

Ubisoft has now released the final release date for Shadowbane - March 25! www.shadowbane.com is the website for the game. It looks really really cool - basically, another MMORPG, but this one is supposedly balanced so that almost everyone will end up joining a group of players, and that politics between groups will play a large part of the game It sounds like Ultima Online, but with 3d and a different sort of style to the gameplay... I know I'm going to be playing (hey, we could have a band of DH mercenaries )!

Well, go check out the site. I just mentioned Ultima Online because it is the same sort of game in terms of world/genre/breadth of options, not necesarily the same in gameplay.....

A friend of mine has a beta account, and it seems to be rather fun from what I've seen. I'll be interested to see what it's like once it's finished.

This game has been in beta for like a freakin year, and believe me when i say this... the gfx engine is WAY past its prime. The game has been in production so long that the entire engine needs to be scrapped.

Well, Azhreal, I would agree except for the fact that almost all of these MMORPG's seem to take a very long time to get into production, and so I can't think of a single modern MMORPG that has truly modern graphics that is either going to be coming out very soon or already out... and I think that it's good that they are finally releasing it - would you want to wait again while they redo the engine

I've been looking for a good RPG. If anybody does get it, keep us posted about the game. Maybe i'll give up some dough and buy this one.

Well, I'm quite sure I'm going to get this game - if it is remarkable and good enough to be worth it, I'll write up a small review once I get it and play it for a bit... I still can't tell how the online thing is going to work - subscriber fees, and if so, how much, but that's something I'll worry about later...

The crap graphics are a good thing, once you've experienced the soopah lag of a PvP MMORPG the pretty slide show becomes much, much less appealing. I'd prefer a playable game with ass graphics to a great looking game that plays like crap.
