DH Review: Need For Speed: Most Wanted (PC)

Looking for a cool game to buy someone for Christmas? Then this might just be that game !

Arush has just finished his review of Need For Speed Most Wanted on the PC. He has taken an indepth look at the various aspects of the title and has even supplied some really cool video footage of him playing the game (you gotta love his 360 degree burnouts!).

As the holiday season fast approaches, more and more people are out in the shops searching for the perfect presents. With major celebrations soon arriving, this year’s end is extremely interesting because there are many good gifts available for the slightly gaming addicted person. Go into any shop that sells video games and you’ll see countless masterpieces for every format, whether it be the PC, console or handheld. Of course, the videogame giant EA anticipated this perfectly and thus, they released on every format imaginable their most famous franchise ever: Need for Speed.

excellent review...ad while yes, the repetitiveness sucks..what racing game isn't?

Gran Turismo 4 took monthes....Project Gotham goes on and on.....so did all the old NFS games....fans of the genre know it's coming, and love it anyways

I was wondering if anyone knew about game pad support. Just bought a logitech dualsomethingorother..., and with this type of game, I cant play with a Keyboard.

True every racing game is but this one was a bit more than the others I find. You really fell into a nasty habit of repeating the same things a bit too much.

Great game nonetheless

About the gamepads, all I know is I had a lot of trouble getting mine working but normally, it should be alright.

great review, you should have included a few cop chases in that vid, as the game is dedicated to the most wanted hehe.

i had no problem getting my PS2 controller to work with this. it even detected it as a usb/playstation 2 converter in the gamepad config.

yes they do, i beleive i have 15 of the 16 keys mapped on my ps2 controller right now. the only one i know i didnt map was L3 in case i accidently press it durring the middle of the race.

ive actually never had a single bit of trouble with this Super Dual box. every raceing game, rom, and GTA:SA, every one works perfectly.

Great review!! I agree with it !00% (no mention of the shadow issues that many have on the PC version though, but that's no big deal

)

I have a Logitech RumblePad 2 (basically like a Playstation controller) and didn't have to change even one button. Everything was set right from the start. I love when that happens.

What have they done to the driving exprience of the game???

underground 2 - was a great feeling to drive...
but this feels all sinthetic... even the in game movies show the cars doing unreal moves...

and there is no free roaming with police chases... this is not fun either..

and when the police is after you they dont do any of the cool things they used to do in NFS hot pesuit... they dont realy try to run you of the road, the boxing method isn't good... you can always trick them... and they dont use any road blocks or spikes or gun shots to the weels...
this really doesn't feel real!!!

the good thing is- amazzzzzzzinnnnngggg raphics... my 9800xt runs it great at medium settings...at 1024X768...

if you get to level 4/5 then they do use Spike Strips aswell as Roadblocking and Boxing in and also they use fast as hell Corvettee Cop cars.

the SUV`s are like nails in your Coffin :P

level 1-3, the cops are completly worthless. when it gets upto 4 or 5 and youve got 20-25 cops on your ass, and a heli thats trying to land ontop of you, then it gets real interesting.

Yeah I did man, the day after he died.. It is very sad, I was hoping he would eventually recover and return to the WRC.

He did leave us wth the best rally sim ever made..

I heard the cop chases are pointless because your vehicle is indestructable and traffic just bounces off without any effect besides a couple scrapes and cracked windshield. + Anything is better than the underground series. Hot Pursuit 2 still = best in my mind, though I haven't played this yet.
