DH Article: GT Legends (PC)

Rasta has just finished a great review of GT Legends on the PC - he has also created a great 3 minute video of him driving on Donington track. now if only I could handle a car like that!

The game is modeled after FIA-GTC racing, a popular vintage racing series in Europe. Although the cars are old, the settings are not, and you night feel like you are in a bit of a time warp sitting in your 1965 Shelby GT350, while the LCD screen of the lap timer ticks away on the dash. The courses are modern as well, and you will drive on many dedicated road courses that were not in existence in the 60’s, and others, such as the Nurburgring, which have been entirely reconfigured since these cars had their heyday.

NSF porche unlimited was one of my all time favorites - so having this compared has made me very tempted. Nicely written review.

Nice review.. I also hate starforce with a passion. It always ends up messing with my rig for some reason.. ISI developed the physics and gfx engine for GTL, the gmotor 2 engine- also used in rFactor.

rF is more for mods than a complete game of it's own... but that's what I am playing now, it is actually very similar to GTL in a lot of ways.

Thanks for the kind words, all.

This game is awesome. If you like driving, it is a must buy, and despite the 2/06 North American release date, I was able to find the game being sold online as an "import."

rasta

P.S. SturReal, there are no Lancia models, but that Elan 26R ought to satisfy your cravings for light, tossable handling.

Sometimes I have that problem with videos on DH reviews.. Usually if I just keep trying about 25 times it eventually downloads the file.. or streams it.

It's a weird thing... when it happens to me I get a very small file, but it is actually the start of te video, like 20 to 40k..

Sometimes I have to clear my cache after the first few times it doesn't work..

Well I honestly have no idea why that might be, its a simple link to a movie file, pretty standard code. I test everything in all browsers on 2 or 3 machines at home, and I tested this in work today on totally different machines. So therefore the only reason is either issues with routing, or specific setups and browser settings on machines.

if of course it fails to stream (Firefox is the worst for this), then right click save as to your desktop.

Isn't that weird! Happened to me too a few times (not on this video though).. I think it was that Q4 video.
-but I can't explain it.

why won't the demo run on my system???

I've downloaded from 4 different (and long trusted) sites.
all seems to install fine, configure vid settings, then when I run it the screen goes black like normal, then jumps to a bsod

I can't even task manager out, I have to hit the power button.

I'm running a 2.8g P4 ht, 1g ddr400, X800, xp pro.

any ideas, cos I really want to give it a play before i buy it
