Homeworld View-Distance

Hey I'm playing Homeworld for the first time (it's wicked-bad by the way) and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to increase the view distance in-game. It's really low since it's an old game and old rigs couldn't handle the 3D but I think my X800 XL and AMD 64 can do it

. So if anyone knows of a way let me know.

I recomend playing this game if you never got the chance.

Fond memories. All I can say is play Homeworld 2 as well. The story in the original is better but the graphics and sound in the sequel does the overall experience good. I just know I'll install it again some day soon.

Homeworld and the followups I think are some of the finest games ever produced. I think I liked HW: Cataclysm the best out of the three, but the "Gardens of Kadesh", the level with your first view of a missile destroyer, and the Junkyard
level are completely inspired. And the music is spectacular, something rather close to Peter Gabriel's non-vocal stuff like the soundtracks for Birdy and Passion.

I'm not sure how to tweak the max view distance beyond setting the in-game options all the way up and checking the "max detail" option. It'd be nice if you could disable the LOD simplification of far-away objects, too.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there is a config file with variables I could change. I didn't see one in the install directory. Does anyone play HW multiplayer anymore? I want to try it cuz it seems like it would be very original gameplay.
