I picked up this game at discount from the Media Play store that's going out of business. I had the demo and was having a lot of fun with it but hadn't gotten around to buying the game.

Well, it's just incredible FUN!!

Anyone else here have it? Anyone playing online?

Well, I've played it and it was okay. Haven't played online but i know multiplayer is still fun

I liked the stunt challenges and thats about it. As far as racers go the cars are too hard to keep on the road.

I hadn't played racing games for a long time but Flatout got me hooked. Upgrades and car choices in the career mode together with the fact that bumping into other cars or obstacles charges your turbo keeps interest up. The steering operates quite well with mere keyboard controls too.

Hope they can improve some details for the sequel, like the low turnrate at low speeds. A fairly common problem in these racing games is that it often takes too long recovering from minor mishaps, so that often you might as well hit the Recovery key to get set up a bit back on the course than try to turn the car around. Or on the last few courses that I'm currently on, you might as well restart the whole race...

I just came in from work a little bit ago and was kind of tired. But, I didn't want to go to sleep already as I'd wake up in an hour or so and then not be able to get back to sleep when my regular sleep hours arrive.

So, I put on FLATOUT and ran a few courses and my adrenalin is back up and I've had a BLAST!

BTW, I'm using my XBOX 360 USB controller to play the game.

One of the really cool things, too, is once you learn how to send other cars into the obstacles, it gets really competitive. LOL!

Flat Out ownes so much. I thought the whole game was awsome and if you haven't tried the demolition derby multiplayer, you haven't lived. I played it at a LAN once and everyone was like "wtf is this game" but then it was sooo much fun.

I don't know if you can play online can you? There was only a LAN option last time I checked... but if there is online play, PM me and I will install it and play with you in a minute

I guess I maybe should have spent more time with this title. I installed it months ago and tried it for 10 minutes and thought it was awful but after reading this it might be worth another shot at some stage.

I had a program that enabled online play a while ago. I think it was called FlatOutNet, it was some 3rd party app but it worked great, I'll have to see if I can find it again.

I was playing last night and just got completely caught up in it. I'm still not really good but finished 4th in one race. Then, there was one where I had so much trouble during the race that I was in last place coming toward the final stretch. Once the track straightened out, I gunned it and took the outside. I went from 8th to 6th just as we crossed the Finish Line.

Then, suddenly, I hit something solid and I flew through the windshield right over the edge of the chainlink fence. The fence curves toward the right just ahead of this area into what looks like a pit area. I ended up with my driver dangling from the top of the chain link fence. LOL!

(EDIT: See my Hanging on the Fence Video below.)

With my 2nd computer having an AiW card, I captured the Replay and saved it to a CD. That's just how much fun this game is.

If I can get ahold of that Online (Net) app, I'll be most happy to host a server for anyone wanting to play.

EDIT: FlatOutNet is the name of the app. It works like a charm. I've already gone through the setup process and started a game. Took all of five minutes!

I'll definitely have a server up sometime around this time tomorrow night. I have to work until at least midnight.....on New Year's Eve at that!!

i loved it.....but it did have rather short lived appeal.

Burnout is far better, but this has a special "junk yard wars" appeal to it

I finally got my first "FIRST" tonight!

Also, I'm having trouble connecting to other servers using the FlatOutNet app I installed. I'm seeing 2 -3 servers. Some of them are not password protected and still I can't get connected to them.

Any ideas why?
