With mat_dxlevel80/81/90 as a console command or -dxlevel90/81/80 as a launch option.

I have some other screens- this first one is with AI and HDR OFF and it looks identical to the first screen I posted.

HDR control seems to do absolutely nothing in HL2.

Notice the texture that doesn't move in the "background of the reflection".. Damn- it looks horrible..

Ok, now look at the Lost Coast:

Absolute suckage..

With HDR full-

resizer messed that one up.. still you can see the ugly rock wall..

The water does not get the HDR reflection like it did....

Original HDR full:

Another original- good HDR reflection...

Again- full HDR on water reflections when LC came out:

Now with "BLOOM".. Oh man- Valve totally screwed up here...

ewwww thats some horrible stuff

It totaly blows how shiny everything is now. CSS looks icky in a lot of places. Anyone know if Valve is working on a fix to make it normal again? What the hell were they trying to do when they introduced this bug anyway?

Overly bright cubemaps
Cubemaps (reflections) are currently rendering much brighter than they should. A fix for this issue requires a Source engine update separate from the SDK Beta release, and will be arriving via Steam in the near future

As we can see, VALVe isn't blind...

Well, actually, they are partially blind.. otherwise this wouldn't have happened to begin with.... right? That, or they were drunk when they released the last update. "Yah <hicup>, loosh good ta me... les release it.)

color blind graphic artists never make it far

what on go's green earth were they doing tinkering with cube maps though? It almsot looks like they are set to stretch isntead of tile, and are stuck in the "bloom" frame of the HDR sequence. Someone dropped a semi colon, or added a stop command on accident, or something?

Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to Valve.. Leaving the the game like this for more than a day after they saw the problem in completely lame.

Valve sucks. Never buying another Valve game..
