It's due out soon though. I saw screenies of it at www.shacknews.com. It's nothing new. Just the same game from 1999. Just a couple new maps. Maybe some new features. But otherwise, the same old Counter-Strike.

Well, they said they were going to add new rifles (whoa! After what, 3 years?), and add a riot shield, which should lead to such rediculous constructions as 10 people making a shield tower with 4 awps behind it... I'm going to try and get back into CS, but with cheating the way it is, I really just can't love the game any more...

Pretty confusing, but you get it fast, but overall cs 1.6 is nice. Runs ok, aztec, inferno and airstrip are great maps. New smoke effect, much nicer and now they bounces one time efter they have been thrown ;D. Also the new weapons actually seems usefull and the shield can be uesed wisely in CW's. And on top of that, the changes in Aztec and Inferno is great, easier for T now

I read on cs nation that you get 3 frags for planting/diffusing... Which is retarted... The reason you plant is to, duh, win and get money in order to kill more of the other team... This addition is retarted.

2nd retarted addition (to the beta at least) Is you can only see the names of those dead in the scoreboard which is stupid because its just going to make me bind the console scoreboard command to a button and just piss me off...

3rd. glock + more damage = cool... but for those that already get kills with the glock (me namely) ITs going to make me very unstoppable as a T... but hopefully it wont be too bad.

Other additions are very welcome... I thinkk there is already enough guns in cs though... Well, we could due with another sniper rifle or 2. Thats just a dream though.

I was really hopeing thay would update the character skins... Giving them more detailed textures... while those there are good, for a spiffy machine like mine an overhaul of them (and the textures to dust and other really used maps would be cool. The halflife engine is showing how old it is all the time... and while this doesent affect gameplay it would be cool if they did it...

Even cooler if they added the option for per pixel lights and stencil shadows like doom 3... Heh, well, I suppose I'll just have to live with tenebrae ... Heh, but you need some serious hardare for it.

Anyway thats my minireview of bata 1.6 and I havent even played it.

they are gonna update the models in cs 1.7, so they looks like the one in CS:CZ, but the engine want be updated, only in CS:CS. I also heard that 1.7 will bring new textures like in the new aztec, inferno and airstrip, which are real cool.

Yes CS has gameplay and it just needs to be more shiny...

Personally I didint think they should have changed CS as much as they have in the past... my biggest complaint was beta 7 and CS 1 ... but if they do go through with the new additions I'm sure I'll get used to them... Sides if they make something thats too retarted all the servers will turn it off or hack it off or whatever. (scoreboard planting/diffusing thing)
