[Dyre Straits]

For those who have played the game, here's a thread to discuss the plots, elements of the game, and anything you might want to talk about re: F.E.A.R.

So, if you've not played the game and don't want to be exposed to spoilers, stop reading now.

With that out of the way, here's my first thought after finishing the game in the wee hours yesterday:


I think it would be a very cool thing if the developers had made it so that when you finally confront Fettel, you're faced with a decision. At first, Fettel doesn't attempt to attack you or kill you. Rather, he tries to convince you that you are one of them. That you've been deceived all these years and that you need to exact revenge on the abusers.

At that point, your decision could be made to change sides in this confrontation and free the hordes within the vault.

Or, you can proceed to kill him and accomplish the finale as it is.

you any good in MP? I havnt even finished SP yet, i find it way to boring for my taste. But in MP i kick ass!

I think the plot could have been more like Deus Ex. Well then again I think every games plot should at least follow that games guidlines.

I haven't done any MP since the demo first came out. Been too busy with wrapping up Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon, Call of Duty 2, and now this one.

Just early in the game, it creeps me. Any hints on good settings for an x800xtpe - fps/Iq balance?

I fiddled with the settings to o% below25, 42% 25-40. 58% 40+ . In game test 25,46,105, that with 1024X768, cpu maximum, most others on medium, X2 aa X4 al. I could drop down a resolution and turn all setting on maximum, have X4aa x8 al, and still have about 50% of fps over 40, but i refuse to play with 800X600 lol. I have pci 6800 oc 400/800, P4 D 830.

As far as the improving goes, i agree with alot of what ive read on other sites, abit more vareity with types of enemy and locationThe atmosphere was creepy, and staying up late with the lights dimmed during the last 2 levels was a guenuine shocker!
Im hoping that someone makes extra single-player missions, but i have a feeling this wont happen, so if anyone knows anything i'd be glad to know

Ive heard something about an expansion end of 06 early 07.

Yep, I am at 1024x768 also. All settings at maximum, except volumetric lights at medium. fsaa is off and texture filtering is at 4x's. Plays well and looks great. At first it seemed a bit jerky, but not sure if that is because of the weird movement when going up stairs, etc. Or if am having fps drops and just got used to it? So far great game!
