Steam News: "new" maps for CSS and DoD:S coming

This month we're planning map releases for both Day of Defeat: Source and Counter-Strike: Source. For Day of Defeat, we'll be releasing a completely rebuilt version of the classic map Kalt. Known as a balanced level set in winter (in German, Kalt means "cold"), Kalt is also a good choice for players who are new to Day of Defeat. For this release, there has even been some custom rendering work done in the Source engine specifically to make the snow and ice look realistic.

For Counter-Strike: Source, we'll soon be releasing Militia. This version will be a fairly major reworking of the original level, and, like the recently released Nuke, it will include HDR.

Nothing about shiny water and shiny textures?
Half-Life 2 looks nothing like i remember (56k warning)

Im pissed that they didnt even mention the stupid "shiny" bug!

kalt is an awesome map, very balanced. hopefully they don't monkey with it too much for Source.

at the rate Valve is going, all the 'original' maps for DoD and CS should be released by 2010.

Is anyone else having problems connecting to Steam? For the past couple of days I can't connect due to "either a problem with my Internet connection or with the Steam servers."

It should go away Dyre, they may be updating something.

The shinny bug exists to valve about as much as the stuttering. Anyone else notice that DOD is kinda dieing out again and people are returning to CS?

It has to be the servers. I just went through the retrieve account password stuff and still can't connect. This is the 3rd day it's been this way for me. At least I can play things offline.
